Chris Roberts Space Garage Simulator: Star Citizen

I understand gamers are pissed. From what I've seen it's a decent alternative for Elite, where I've sunk hundreds of hours. A 50€ starter pack will provide enough gaming time to make the cost worth for me, at least according to my price/entertainment ratio.
Don't really care too much about what's behind it, and it will keep me busy while waiting for Starfield.

Today is a special day. It's the one I look forward to every month. Squadron 42 Email Update day!!
Let's take a look:
- This month, the story team filed 1000 pages' worth of side-quests, and then decided to delete it.
- The Enemy AI department were so successful, that their creations rebelled and murdered them all.
- We are hiring! Please apply for the following positions: 1. Anti-Technology specialists. Amish background and own weapons a plus. 2. Enemy AI coding specialists. 3. Physics coding specialists.
- The Physics department invented a new mode of chronological travel. Subsequently, they have vanished, leaving behind a sole copy of the 2024 Sports Almanac.

this kind of behaviors are what enables scammers like the group that supposedly make this "game" and all other **** that game companies pulled off in recent years...

I haven't given them a cent. I have long ago adopted wait till release, and then MAYBE buy. I wait for patches first.. then I buy.

But people are willing to pre-order games, even after years of terrible release... people just don't learn. And people throwing 1000s of $$$ for ships in this game are crazy. But hey.. it's not my money.

specifically on SC however, it has went to the point that even showing a glimpse of excitement toward this title would result in giving the scammers credibility despite the fact that they have scammed people for more than half billion dollars at this point. it just a sad state of humanity at this point IMO.

Haven't checked on this abomination for a while. Let's see how it's doing. Well, they disabled the progress tracker.... Awesome work guys.
4.0 is due out in Q3 2024, just in time for citizen conjob. Also nice to see they have added a few more "new" things to add, just 12 years into development.

Wake up babe, new CIG article dropped by Tom Henderson.

Cliff notes:
  • Their money is dwindling
  • CIG is a cult with lots of junior devs and not much experience
  • They are considering making a medieval game to get funds
  • Croberts is a perfectionist who checks things 7 times and then scraps them
  • Crunch time to get stuff done for CitizenCon
  • CitizenCon will likely have a demo of SQ42 Chapter 1
  • They're prepping for SQ42 launch which is apparently only now feature complete (approx 8 years after it was nearly done)

I'm still a big fan of the project despite its lengthy development. The first hour of Squadron 42 dropped.

Very strong rumors abound that CIG let quite a few QA people go after they were forced to crunch for the Convention.

Apparently the jobs are going to cheaper markets. So that will really help speed things up with Crobert's micromanaging everything.
