BONELAB, the sequel to BONEWORKS. PCVR/Quest 2

Loved playing Boneworks. Reminds me, I should go back and finish that up.

Boneworks and Fallout 4 are my favorite VR games. I hope they don't dumb down this game because of the Quest2 limitations.

Looks like they took Boneworks, which felt like an full-fat avant-garde VR experiment, and instead of molding that into a well-rounded AAA game, they went even more batshit crazy. Not what I expected, but I look forward to its release!

This just solidifies the fact that VR makes me nauseous. Even when watching someone else's feed. :(

Maybe this one will have shorter, bite-size levels. Otherwise, looks like you can have lots of enemies on screen, etc. Should be a full Boneworks experience.

Yeah the trailer sucked for that. It also felt like they where always looking down... it was weird. Capturing VR footage for non-VR tends to be a problem. It's not like that when you actually play :)

I think they were just trying to show off the boobs.

On one hand it looks cool. But on the other hand, there's a lot of jankiness to the movement. For some reason the arm movements reminds of of the akward arm movements in that old Jurassic Park Trespasser game.

Trespasser was my first though too when I saw the screenshot. All they need is the health meter tattoo on the breast.

 I had the same thought.

Had that same thought!

The Trespasser image of looking down at your chest is, apparently, iconic enough that no-one else can copy it without triggering all the 30+ y/o gamers.

It's funny that a game that was so poorly recieved and seems otherwise to be forgotten should stil resonate with so many of us.

It seems to me that modern VR would also have been the perfect medium for the game as so much of what it tried and failed to do would fit so perfectly.

It's probably because it was the first time we were really burned by hype in buying a video game.

Sure, there were some stinkers for the NES, particularly with movie/cartoon tie ins. But it's hard to point out a game that was truly bad that I wanted badly growing up. Maybe the Ghostbusters game for the NES. But even that, I managed to play the hell out of it.

But Trespasser was a can't miss game. And it's not like now, where you have a Steam backlog 20 years long that you can just sweep a bad purchase under the rug. I think at that time I would get maybe two games for Christmas and maybe one for my birthday.

At least my 2nd game that Christmas was probably Half-Life.

Maybe for yourself but I'd played many bombs by that time. I even had E.T for the Atari VCS!

Obviously we don't all have to remember it for the same reason but it does seem to have stuck in quite a few peoples minds.

I wish this had MP !__!

This seems like Tresspasser's original vision, actually working.

-The one armed noodle arm physics that surgeon simulator made popular actually works in VR and with both arms.
-looking down at your boobs and not seeing a tesselated lara croft construction cones.
-The nauseating "realistic" movements of 3D in VR.

Clearly Tresspasser was ahead of its time.
