They are features you didn't pay for. You got the car at a lower price point by not ordering it with them. Being able to later pay for those features when you do have the money seems like a good option.
Selling the **** on a subscription basis is what's egregious.
unlocking a feature already in your car vs not having that feature installed is kind of different.
-Pay 75k for a car and have all the features available.
-Pay 70k for the same car but have to unlock all the features via DLC code.
-Pay 65k for the same car but the features are not available as they were not installed.
IN the unlocking scenario, you can either be a genius and save money via the unlocks (if car + unlocks costs less than car with everything enable by default), or you have been subtlety gouged and the unlocking ends up making the car cost more. (so now you end up paying 80k total for the same car that would have cost 75k)
