Avatar Question

I dont know who has noticed, but we can now display our own avatar images :p

Yipee, was my initial reation, but no!

What are the specifics for the graphic??
I tried to upload one of my own from my pooter, only to find
this is not a valid jpg or gif format
Well it was, and I tried both. It was 83*82 originally then i sized to 100*100, but no, still wouldnt work.

Any Ideas??

Edit: Ok it didnt work, i am stumped on this one. Can anybody help??
