i am having an issue with the ATI T200 Unified AVStream Driver. can anybody help? i have uninstalled/reinstalled the driver multiple times now...

i have exhausted nearly all avenues to recover from this problem to no avail.
i have uninstalled the drivers using the Control Panel add/remove programs /ATI software uninstaller. then using both Driver Sweeper 1.0/1.5 to remove all of what they can before rebooting into safe mode. after booting into safe mode I re-run both versions of the Driver Sweeper for the most thorough cleaning that I know of.

i attempted various orders of installing the individual driver packages for Catalyst 8.5 as recommended by AMD. WDM->DD reboot.

"This devices cannot start." ...

i even repeated the above process by switching to another PCIe 16x slot and rotating to the 2nd DVI port of the card to see if that influenced the issue, and nothing.

I am asking anyone using Cat 8.5s and the 2900 XT to remove one of the PCIe power connectors to your card to see if it disables the ATI T200 device, because perhaps that is my problem... a general lack of power.

the drivers are smart enough to adjust your clocks immediately upon boot-up so the lack of power from removing one of the PCIe plugs won't hurt either the system or the card. but i wonder if the T200 device gets disabled?

You say that you've "unistalled/reinstalled the driver multiple times now...". Have you completely removed all traces of ATI with something like DriverCleaner, for example?

I had that problem a few years ago with an older product and I had to clean everything out and start fresh.

Did this problem occur after installing new software? Hardware? A Windows update? Can you try the card in another system?

never had the problem with the Radeon X1900 XT or Radeon HD 3870. i use AMD/ATI's uninstall utility from the Control Panel->Add/remove Programs, and then Driver Sweeper 1.0 and 1.5. Then reboot into safemode and run both versions of Driver Sweeper again before finally rebooting and installing the fresh drivers.

don't have another computer to test it in... and it happened when i installed the Radeon HD 2900 XT

OK. I'm curious then, what other board/card do you have installed in your system that utilizes the T200 driver? I'm no expert, but I didn't think the 2900 XT had a tuner.

edit: OK, not a tuner. It must be for the VIVO function.

A quick g00gle and I see that others are in the same boat. My guess is that the card has an issue or it's a software problem. If you've tried different versions of drivers without success, then maybe it's time to submit a ticket to ATI?!

i own a AIW 9600 and since a year ago i have this code 10 error. the tv turner is dead. i bought a cheap encore tv turner....

May not have any effect, but have you tried uninstalling all instances of the t200 device in Device mgr after setting it to show Hidden devices?

Have you also tried to delete any related inf files & drivers files from the Windows folder (not just the registry)?

Microsoft had a related driver software update for XP if I remember correctly - it screwed things up quite well.

Does the card use the t200 drivers from the aiw that's bundled in the CCC package, or the different drivers for the 550/650 chips? What happens if you try the ones you're not using?

Do you have HD audio on the card & drivers not installed?
