Anyone else still getting the no video when waking monitor from sleep?

I had the same problem. The fix is quite simple. Go to bios settings/wake up event/ enable-resume from s3 by usb device.

Man, I've had this bug for like a year now. Is anybody else still having this problem? Monitor wakes, but the screen is blank. I have to put the whole computer to sleep and wake it to get video back.

The weird thing is that sometimes it doesn't happen. And with some beta drivers it happened less than others. Pretty much happens every time with the new WHQL driver.

"Sleep," or hibernation or hybrid mode, et al, has always been problematic as far back as I remember--no matter the system, no matter the gpu. Note that I'm not talking about monitor power-saving mode, when the monitor goes into stand-by after so many minutes of inactivity from the keyboard/mouse--never had a problem with that function that I recall.

Advice: turn all "sleep/hibernate" settings in Windows off; they're actually only meant for the purposes of conserving battery life in a portable system but have always been problematic in terms of device drivers. Instead, use either the native AMD or Intel "speed step/cool 'n quiet" type utility, depending on your EFI/bios and etc. Your GPU already throttles way down when you're chugging along in 2d without any need for the system to sleep...and your cpu will likewise drop dramatically in MHz when you're web surfing...Go into Advanced Power Settings in Windows and turn off *all* power settings with the exception of allowing the mouse and keyboard to "wake" the system (should something actually sleep that you hadn't intended)--you certainly don't need to put the hard drives to sleep!--and set the cpu minimum to the lowest percentage possible when idling and 100% under load, and you are set.

To turn hibernate off it's open an Administrative-level CLI prompt and enter: powercfg -h off ...if memory serves. That turns off hibernation, and you're done.

Well, I had the monitor sleep problem when I had a previous driver, but with Omega driver. Its completely fixed. No problem using the balance mode. I now can switch the either performance mode or balance mode from the power options whatever I want. This is only the ONE problem I used to had problems with the monitor sleep and its wake up and shown the black screen.

290x happened as same time as i upgraded video card from 2-6970s i went ahead and upgraded my monitor since it was getting 4 years old.

Had to turn on/off the monitor to get the signal back.

Before 14.12 omega driver, I'd see this issue may be once a week on my Dual-DVI connected monitor with 7950 crossfire.

With the 14.12 driver however, I haven't seen the issue once, but I am not using crossfire either.

I am talking about the power saving mode with the display, and not putting PC to S3 sleep mode, which has always been trouble-free for me.

I switched to Windows 10 CP about a month ago (from Windows 7) and I have not gotten a single black screen. I was and still am using the Omega drivers. I used to get them 2-3 times a week with Win7 on all 3 cards (7970ghz/R9 280/R9 290).

So... is it AMD's fault? Microsoft's or both?

I have this bug; computer occasionally wakes up but the monitor does not wake up from sleep. Using Omega 14.12 and it fixed ****-all. Sapphire Radeon 7770, ASUS M97R2.0, Windows 8.1 x64. This bug did not exist with MSI 760GM-P21 and Windows 7 x64. It's either chipset, or OS related. Either way it's frustrating.

As a sidenote, the DVI ports are apparently the worst affected; I use the DVI port with an AMD DVI/VGA converter.

Suddenly this is happening with the new monitor LG 34mu95-P sometimes still not getting a screen after fiddling to wake the monitor up omega 14.2. On the side i have wired my 8 year old tv to the pc to watch some shows i dont have access to and the screen is viewable without the black screen.

Going to install the new 15 beta driver tonight.
