Anybody got an OLED tv?

Yeah last I checked those one connect boxes were on the order of about $400. That's a pretty hefty additional cost to tack on.

I know I sound like a broken record on this forum but its yet another tech I am waiting on to mature some more.

Yeah, $400 is how much those go for. The ones they have right now have the same tech as what's built into the 8500. But, it is nice to have the option and be able to add some new functionality without buying a new set a couple of years down the road.

I'd rather be buying a flat 4k OLED right now in the 65" range for a reasonable price. But, all those things in one package doesn't exist right now. And, at the moment, whenever I want to work out in the basement, I have to carry down my desktop LCD from my office.

I ended up going to a electronics store and picked up that TV this afternoon after they made me a decent deal on it (and they have a 90 day price match). I'm hoping with some calibrations this week I can improve the picture drastically as all the 4K Netflix content I viewed looked pretty grainy and nowhere near the quality of the Vizio I had seen at Best Buy a week ago.

Smart move getting that 90 day price match.

Actually a bit surprised they'd even offer that to a customer crazy enough to buy a TV right before Black Friday.

If the 8700 curved series supported full bandwidth HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 I would buy the 55" as a computer monitor replacement right now. My current monitor is acting up.
