Alan Wake 2 is Coming in 2023

Yay! Hopefully more amazing writing from Sam Lake. Remedy is quickly becoming one of my all time favorite game developers.

From what I'm reading online sounds like this one is going to be less action and more survival horror. Not sure yet if that's a good or bad thing.

they weren't already? There were some shitty things with their last game, but mostly they have been pretty solid as a dev studio, and have definitely made excellent games, all above average quality since their first creation. Easily on par with arkane.

Well they were one of my favs for sure, but they just don't have a big enough catalog of games yet. Before Control the only Remedy games I was really familiar with and loved were Max Payne 1 and 2, and Alan Wake. But Control was so fantastic it sealed the deal. Sam Lake is an incredible writer.

Now I am super hyped for Alan Wake 2.

I'm guessing the structure will be more like Control, so a bit more open with exploration. Should suit it well. If they mix in some day/night cycle stuff it could be great.

That would be sweet. Similar structure to Control, just more open air environments which were lacking in Control for obvious reasons.

Hope they improve the map though. It was a bit of a pain to use at times in Control.
