ABIT KT7-Raid w/ AMD 800mhz thunderbird
32mb Radeon AIW
SB Live Platinum 5.1
I nearly went off the deep end trying to get this system work well. Particularly, the TV/DVD/File-player applications would crash my system almost immediately. Futhermore, games would lock up or crash eventually, the only thing I was Wondering was why I switched away from trusty 3dfx cards.
What finally got my system stable was some combination of the latest "special purpose" driver, installing the VIA agp driver in Normal speed, disabling agp 4x in bios, and setting graphics acceleration down one notch in advanced video properties.
However, this is fairly disappointing since through all of this I managed to lose around 350 points in 3DMark2000. I'm really counting on future drivers to solve these problems so that I can get what I paid for.
Anybody know if the new drivers coming down the pipeline address issues with the KT7 motherboards (or rather, ABIT motherboards in general) ?
