Just for anyone that isn't aware, the 17.12.x drivers break support for some DX9 games. The known list so far:

C&C3 Tiberium Wars
C&C3 Kane's Wrath
C&C Red Alert 3
C&C Red Alert 3 Uprising
C&C4 Tiberian Twilight
Battle for Middle Earth 1-2
Witcher Enhanced Edition

There are probably other games as well.
Someone from AMD, on the AMD community forum, stated unofficially that AMD is unlikely to devote any resources to fixing these old games.

A rumor in a forum is hardly evidence for anything, by i confirm that Witcher Enhanced Edition does not work.

IMO if CD Project RED is informed of this i'm sure they will pressure AMD to solve the problem.

It isn't a rumor in a forum. It was an AMD employee that stated it wouldn't likely be fixed. CD Projekt may be able to fix it themselves but that doesn't do much for any other games

I downgraded anyway since the new drivers give me problems in new games. I mean people can downgrade to run older games but this is not great policy

Ran CS:S, Rocket League, and TF2 on 17.12.2. They were all worked fine except Witcher 1 (message says "stopped working") and Painkiller: Black Edition (didn't start at all after double clicked. It just did nothing)

I just had reverted to 17.9.3 for now because I used that driver for longest time. I have no reason to update the driver. I used 17.12.1/2 because I just wanted to see how overlay looks like, but that's about it. Both 17.9.3 and 17.12.2 are about the same performance for me. So I don't care. I feel like I'm not gonna bother updating the driver all the times.

All that hot air for nothing. Good to see them address the issue quickly.

That guy in the AMD community forum was probably just trolling on anyone to took his clickbait and made to say bad things about AMD. Many people @ subreddit AMD make AMD looks bad. I knew it. Some DX9 games are working with 17.12.2 fine which indicates that DX library helper is probably missing or something else. Also don't forget that AMD had made every major driver that also break other stuff. This is what happens when you write a major driver and it suddenly break some things unexpectedly.
