well, with HTML code, user can basically do anything including a lot of things people do not want :(
 
Like what? I'm no HTML expert but I regualrly vist the Quake3World.com forums and they've been using it all the time. I haven't heard any complaints from there. They get to use colors and fonts and animated gifs. Check out this page. What could be wrong with that?

Is it possible to just allow different fonts to work? It might liven things up from all the people who crab about their problems all day.
 
i see, i am fine with fonts and color change but worried about tags like <pre> and <img src> where you can alter the format or post inappropriate images.. but i think we might be able to implement font/color change so stay tuned

Yes new fonts was all I was asking for. I don't really know any other tags yet cuz I'm just learning. Hopefully stuff like this will be enabled:


<font size=15><font color=yellow><marquee hspace=50 vspace=50 width=300 bgcolor=blue align=middle>BeardedClem!</marquee></font>

And this:

<b><font color=gold><SPAN style="height:1; filter:glow(Color=red,strength=#1)">BeardedClem!</b></SPAN></font>

Trust me it looks cool when it works.
