8500DV Remote Problem

Hello,

I just reinstalled my PC with the new 2.2 Catalyst drivers, new WDM drivers, 1.1+1.2 Remote Drivers, and 7.7 MMC, all on Windows XP Pro. Everything is working flawlessly.

What I continue to run into, is that the remote fails to start up in the system tray on a reboot. This occured in the past for me, so I've been forced to live without one of the best features of the 8500dv. I'm sick of missing out on watching tv on my Sony G520, so I want to get to the bottom of it.

Here's what I have checked:

1. The registry entries under:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] (I only found one entry)

2. Putting atix10.exe in the startup menu.

3. Installing the Remote Wonder software, THEN plugging the usb receiver in.

I can manually start ATIX10.exe, and change the volume, channel, and turn off the tv from the remote . What i CAN"T do, is turn ON the TV once the ATIX10.exe is in the system tray. This sort of defeats the purpose of having a remote control, and really just makes me disgusted that there is a software problem with XP, or there is something conflicting with the startup of the ATIX10.exe.

Any solutions to this matter would be great. I really would like to solve this, and by the amount of threads I've seen....many others would too. Thanks.

it seems that the remote receiver was plugged when you tried to install the drivers.
Don't forget to unplug the receiver from the USB port before installing drivers....
