2024 Ford Mustang Debut

A keyfob that lets you rev your engine remotely? I'm in!

Evidedntly it doesn't 'rev the engine' it plays sounds from a stored bank through speakers or something.

Also this car clearly looks like Camaro, there are so many ripped notions. Those quater panels are 100% straight from the camaro, as is the hood vent.

It looks ok, but its also has some strong EV design into it, I wonder if it's pre-built for an EV swap, this will be the last ICE big 3 sports car.

I hate the trend of making the instrument cluster a big LED screen on new cars.

who is watching the road ?

how many tablets can they put on the dashboard

This tablet on the dashboard fad has got to go. I can't wait for designers to stop being lazy and find a way to cleverly blend the screens into the dash if they have to be there, instead of slapping them on top like that. I really liked this Mustang until I saw the interior.

This, all the way.

wonder what that is like on a very dark night and a highway with no lights

if they are going to use tablets make thel fold down and push into the dash when not in use

and wait till some car wash guy sprays armorall all over them

Yep. I love the looks of the exterior, but those tablets would be a deal breaker for me. There’s no reason they can’t mold them into the dash, and with a little creativity make them easy to swap for maintenance if needed.

You want a glass cockpit, do it right.

100% agreed. This started with Tesla, right?

Tesla popularized it i think.

The tablet-stuck-on-dash look has been going on for awhile with various levels of success depending on manufacturer. They were better integrated because touchscreens werent really the primary input method so they could be pushed back further. Now that everything is a touchscreen it has to be designed within arms length.

And that mustang interior is much worse than i originally thought....i thought it was one of those doublewide screens that looks like every doublewide screened interior...but 2 separate tablets look horrific.

Looks very bad to me.

It's not even just the screens though. The entire dash design is just awful. If you hid any logos/badges, you would never even guess that it belonged to a Mustang.

My GF even commented when I was watching the Doug video not realizing initially that this was the new Mustang. She was like that looks like something out of a truck/SUV.

Thinking about it more though, it seems like the fox body Mustang was inspiration for the dash and goes beyond just that gauge cluster option.

Doesn't help that the UI on those screens looks like hot garbage.

Ya, agreed.
