2020 Intel Xe GPU

This intel derivative may be for entry level mobile discrete segment, may be similar to what Nvidia offers with their entry level mobile mx derivatives.
 
If its not for mobile, and cant compete with entry level cards, then who is it for? Gaming pc's for homeless people on a budget?

it maybe it's only purpose to see if it gets by the lawyers
 
I think this Intel derivative scored higher in FireStrike than the latest Mx derivative from Nvidia, which I think is the Mx350. Would be more concerned about efficiency with this segment more-so than with just raw performance. It's too early to really gauge anything.
 
More competition in graphics is welcomed. But Intel has to do better than this offering to be taken seriously by most people.

I would love to see fierce competition resulting in like 33.3333/33.3333/33.3333 % market shares for the three competitors.
 
But you have to factor in this is probably the low power entry-level mobile derivative and probably targeting a bit more than 60fps esport titles at 1080p, one may imagine. You have to factor in the amount of watts, overall efficiency of the architecture/cores and the cost. .

This architecture seems to be a scalable architecture from integration to data centers and Intel is a behemoth of a company with vast resources, just look at their financials.

I don't underestimate Amd, I certainly don't underestimate Intel.

I totally underestimate Intel with their continued 14+++++++++++++++++++++++ debacle.
 
I would say Intel suffered some obstacles to overcome but hardly a debacle. To put things in perspective about Intel: they made by far more operating income/profits last quarter than Nvidia and Amd's total revenue combined last quarter

I'm happy to see Intel attempt to enter the discrete market and improve upon integrated solutions. Hopefully, spend their vast resources and R&D to improving upon gpu and gaming experiences, more potential choices to consider, more competition, which hopefully brings more sanity to pricing.

I would wager Nvidia and Amd are not underestimating Intel.

Come on, this is a huge debacle when it comes to Intel, how many years have they been trying to get to 10nm? They have let AMD catch up and it sure is looking like passing with Zen 3.

Certainly an obstacle, a misstep, but hasn't hurt the bottom line. When it really hurts the bottom line economically and competitively then it's a debacle to me. I understand where you're coming from and your point and agree with the premise. We just disagree semantically.
