14.8 WHQL's out

hmm indeed. Waiting till they are 1. on AMD's site, and 2. there's release notes.

They were on AMD's site, this is where the link on Guru3D went to but have since been pulled. People were reporting an RSOD with these. They are reported new then the 14.7RC3 but are still a mess.

Weren't these like APU drivers or something? I generally don't download drivers anymore until amd officially links them on their page. Even if they are dug up on the site somehow, they can still be goofy so I just wait.
 
For whatever reason AMD release the WHQL driver but had every card listed in the INF. Probably why its been pulled from the site now. Uploaded the Desktop driver instead of the APU driver. At first the Guru link brought you to AMD's site.
 
Been reading the replies on guru3d and by and large Users seem satisfied with them and they're more recent than the RC3, and with performance improvements overall, but they seem to make the cards run hotter for some, and also be more CPU demanding in other cases as they have CPU related crashes just with the driver swap between 14.4's and 14.8's and running games.

Eyefinity seems to work fine with these....No idea why they got pulled from AMD's site, but it could be the introduction driver for the 285 cards perhaps, and they're timing them with the release of the new cards?
 
Installed them on my system and it followed all the usual steps and are labelled 14.8's.

So far so good...Tried Eve online, star citizen Alpha, heaven benchmark, titanfall, valley benchmark....Got 2 records on both the benchmarks at the same clocks in fact.

About the only thing that's still screwed is the star swarm benchmark using mantle, it had that in the 14.4's though....
 
Kind of a bummer, was holding out hope that these would have the new CCC. Still won't try them out til they hit AMD's site proper. 14.7 RC3 aren't that bad anyway, besides the DX9 issues.

Played a bit more with the setup, and the eyefinity feature has been enhanced in that it not only supports monitors of different sizes, but the horizontal alignment can be done at the bottom of each display, or at the top or right at the center of each display.

Becomes much easier to adjust displays that are in a specific position, like a middle screen above the center one showing a specific part of the game that the user always wants to keep an eye on....Nice touch( wasn't present on the 14.4's that I remember).

They add this nice touch when I now have my oculus DK2's, making triple screen irrelevant....Grumbles.
 
Some new drivers for the 285x ONLY are up now, still no new betas up for everyone else. Really hope they release new betas soon. Would be a bummer if we don't get new drivers because they spent all their time on tonga only drivers instead.
