“Rogue One” Gets A Prequel TV Series - Andor

I dunno about milking they announced this back in 2018. And looks like another year before we get another movie with the last one in 2019. This ~year we at least get 2-3 short tv series.

Gimme more!

Supposedly Andor is going to have significant changes to what you think you know about the star wars historical canon.

“There are certain events that happen in these five years that are important and need to be paid attention to. There are certain people, characters that are legacy characters, that the audience, the passionate audience, really feels that they have an understanding of and know.

In some cases, they’re right. And in some cases, what we’re saying is, ‘What you know, what you’ve been told, what’s on Wookieepedia, what you’ve been telling each other … is really all wrong.’ It’s upside down, or it’s sideways, or it’s the opposite of what you thought was true. Or it’s way more interesting than you had ever thought. Or that’s a lie and there’s a reason for it. I would say that there’s some surprises in store.”

Hopefully it's not classic subverting expectations for the sake of it and actually clever/interesting.

Indeed. I love that the "whiny child" notions that the Prequel movies built about Anakin turned out to be wrong - he truly was "the chosen one" and was meant to replace The Father to maintain balance of the force; except he chooses not to because he wants to save his friends/the jedi

There are ways of filling in details and building characters without changing what we "thought we knew" about them. The Clone Wars series fleshed Anakin out incredibly well.

Hoping this is an attempt to build characters up instead of just changing established lore..

Soooo, anyone watched the first arc of the second season yet? Make sure spoiler tags! I'm delaying my watch a bit to make sure a one month sub covers the whole run.

I was gonna try and wait... but i'll likely crack into it tonight :D

Finished arc 1. Lots of stuff being set up so it is a lil slow. The deal with the tie fighter didn't look like it needed the amount of air time it got unless there's lots to tie back to. Also wished I had a subwoofer for the wedding ritual!

Finished arc 2. Time skip was a lil jarring but nowhere near House of the Dragon jarring. The various plots were interesting but feels like they still setting up the pieces. Organa!

Finished it! There was a few things that I wished got fleshed out more but nothing that required 3 more seasons as was planned (though who knows, good story telling could've filled those out but unless they come out with comics/book then we'll never know). The ending does require you know the rest without feeling you got left hanging.

Yep very good best thing since Empire Strikes Back. Its not a swashbuckler but as a spy political thriller its about as good as it gets in the SW universe. Rumor was they intended a season 3 but condensed it into S2. Too bad. Will be the only non movie SW series I grab on 4k.
