What TV shows are you currently watching?

Randomly started the series The Outlaws on Amazon Prime. It's a funny show about a group sentenced to community service for some crimes they committed and end up getting sucked into crimes that are much more serious. It's from BBC so it has some decent character development and twists. Plus, the great Chriistopher Walken is in it doing his usual character you can't trust at all. Season 1 is better than Season 2 so far. Both are still worth a watch if you are stuck without any decent things to binge.

Watched 5 episodes of Witcher. Decent.
Watched 2 episodes of Jack Ryan. Confusing af initially but was fine by episode 2.
Finished Silo. Good shocker ending.
Watched 2 episodes of Diplomat. Average and main lady is not attractive.

Pretty sure I watched more stuff that I can’t remember.

Watching the third and final season of The Great which has moved from Prime to Hulu. It's a comedy. Elle Fanning plays Catherine the Great.

Also on Hulu, I'm watching The Bear as well as re-watching High Fidelity starring Zoe Kravitz.

Watched the end of the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel on Prime.

I finished watching the first season of The Lazarus Project.

It was pretty good. The main character is the guy who plays the demon in the last episode of Black Mirror. It's a time travel show. The Lazarus Project is a group of operatives that work to save the world, and they have a time machine that resets the world when things fuck up. But they don't time travel whenever they feel like it. It only happens on a certain day each year, and if they fuck up they have to redo the whole year. It sort of acts more like a save in a video game.

It's actually pretty light on sci-fi, other than the time travel parts. It's more action/thriller/drama. And a bit of humour so it's not too serious.

Sounds a little like Steven King's 11/22/63 in which a guy finds a tunnel to a specific day/time and he resolves that he's going to stop the JFK assassination. Only he has to wait a considerable amount of time before it happens each attempt.

I liked that show. At least until the ending. Like most Stephen King stuff I've seen it falls apart.

In a way it is like that. But The Lazarus Project handles it differently. Most of the season takes place in a single loop. A lot of it focuses on how the people who know about the time resets deal with the events that get reset (things like having a baby and it getting erased). Although, if I remember correctly, 11/22/63 did that a bit with the relationship.

Never saw the show, but read the book. One of his better ones, actually as it didn't veer off into weird unexpected directions.

Collaborating with his sons over the years has made him a better writer as it's forced him to plan out the story ahead of time instead of writing stream-of-consciousness. The latter can give you some truly great scenes, but the plot structure is lacking.

Witcher Season 3 part 1. Yeah I'm not sure where they are going with this. It seems all disjointed with side action to break up the monotony of moving pieces around the board for whatever reason.

Finished Jack Ryan S4. Very disappointing season. I could've watched more of this but apparently this is it.

Finished the Bear Season 2. Excellent writing and characters. If you love food and great acting, this show is for you. 9.5/10

Sonic Prime (Netflix) Season 2 - Not quite as fun as season 1 as they try to bring 2.5 sets of heroes together to resolve a thing resulting in tons of plot armor for everyone but par for the course for a kids show like this. Definitely ended with at least a season 3 to come.

Silo (Appletv+) - I dunno, the big slow part in the middle didn't bother me so much as there was tension through out and you get to learn about how the centers of power operates and their motivations. The ramp up to the end had some plot armor conveniences that makes me wonder if they suddenly realized they needed to wrap up the season. Ending definitely leaves room for more! Hoping Apple doesn't turn into Netflix as they've cancelled some promising shows (BBC please pick up the Lockwood and Co!)

Finished Hijack. Absolutely terrible waste of time for 7 episodes. Basically nothing happens in the show.

part 2 of Witcher 3 - I agree with KAC, this season is pretty garbage. A few long boring episodes with payoffs that don't seem to make any sense at all.

Jury Duty . . . Prime. An Office-like fake documentary comedy except one of the people is (ostensibly) not an actor and thinks he's on a real jury.and it's a real documentary.

Reservation Dogs . . . Hulu. Third and final season.

This Place is Dead . . . A documentary about a tech and social internet forum.

Ted Lasso season 3 (appletv+) - I guess they wanted to give the final season an extra 2 eps. Not sure if it was meant to be that way as the filler stuff was pretty obvious. Got to see an A For All Mankind alum in the show as well as someone from Sweet Tooth!

What’s with the stupid cliffhangers.

Star Trek and Superman and Lois both ended in massive cliffhangers with final battle not finishing. So pissed off.
