W10 Keeps changing extensions on its own and notifying me of it!

So I just 'upgraded' my Windows7 to Windows 10 and had irfanview and acrobat pdf (and other programs) assigned to certain extensions yet Windows keeps insisting on changing them back to its own programs (photos, edge, etc) and notifying me of it, CONSTANTLY.

Does anyone have a solution to this? It is getting on my nerves.

Not sure, I have the x64 version of irfanview and ran it as admin.

That seems to have solved it! Thanks so freaking much. This was driving me crazy.

Now I just need to find how to force windows into displaying english as a language. It wont download the language packs.

Language finally installed, turns out it needs about 2 hours to download a 25MB patch on a 200mbit connection.
