Uninstall & Install Video Card

I want to install ATI 9600 Pro and get rid of my Gforce4 mm420.What would be the best way to do this on WindowsXP? Considering this would be the first time for the new ATI to be installed on this computer could I just change it in device manager or what?
 
first just uninstall the nvidia driver via device manager and after it download driver cleaner from www.guru3d.com and clean the leftovers in the registery after you did that install dx9 (if you haven't got it installed yet) then the driver then the control panel in thesame order.
But for the best performance i would still recommend a complete format c:\
