I understand that some standard has been agreed upon for digital audio on DVD type disks with PCM at 24 bits and much higher sampling rates.
It seems like Philips is proposing a different DVD format and PCM specs, while Sony is proposing something entirely new, not a variation on the PCM format.
All these proposals are supposed to bring digital audio to new levels of high fidelity.
What do you know, and what are your opinions?
