Texture detailing and other issues in UT with OpenGL

Texture detailing works fine in D3D but not in OpenGL. Anyone get it to work? Also, it seems that dynamic lighting in UT doesn't work very well in OpenGL. In other words, on a dynamically lit mover, the lighting on it doesn't change properly as it moves. For example, run Deck16 and get on one of the lifts. If the lighting doesn't change on the surface of the lift, dynamic lighting is not working properly. I've also noticed there's a much higher framerate hit when you take the damage amplifier in OpenGL than there is in D3D. Now, I usually play in D3D for obvious reasons. :) But I'd like to get the OpenGL working well, too. I am using all the recommended .ini changes and have the renderer from the Epic tech site. Any suggestions?
