RX 6600 and 6600XT

The 5700XT comparisons are because its really close to it's MSRP and performance levels. Only it has RTing.

The price is exactly where it should be based on well the world as it is right now. It's also actually cheaper than a 3060 here in Canada :p

Who cares about the naming structure. The 6600XT cost the same as the 5700XT did..

You should ask AMD why is the same cost for 6600xt. 5600xt for example replaced Vega56 with same perforamnce but lower price msrp 280$.Vega 56 was msrp at 399 $

Technically... the 6600XT is cheaper than the 5700XT on MSRP alone. It's just close to it. $379 vs $399. If I had to take a random stab, I would say AMD would have liked this to be cheaper, but it's just not possible with the market the way it is. Same goes for the 3060 and 3060Ti, they both should be allot cheaper than they are.

I think we where all hoping for was AMD to pull a classic move and really undercut the competition on price. But the margins are just not there to pull it off. If this released @ $300 or really just under $350 it would have been more exciting.

The naming structure is important because that is where the cards sit on the heirarchy. This thing should be replacing a 5600 and priced like a 5600 woudl have been at its launch. having it perform identical to 5700 is just typical generational progress.

Plus the 5700 came out during normal times, years before a health pandemic took over the world and completely fubared global supplies of...well..everything affecting prices. contruction material costs have skyrocketed as well if you must know.

unfortunately until things get back to normal, we currently have to deal with these stupidly inflated prices. So unless you can wait it out and more likely end up waiting for newer card generations, this is what we have to deal with.

HWUnboxed wasn't very impressed by this biostar card.

This card is much cheaper than the competition in Australia

6600xt is $700
3060 is $1000-1100

30% cheaper for about same performance is pretty good. But it shows how stupid some of the prices are though. Normal times both would be about 500-600.

Damn, people justifying the price on this is crazy

There is just no other way to look it. It blows, but everything blows right now for GPU pricing. It's just the reality of what can be done right now.

Especially the actual pricing you can get retail. It just sux, this will be the worst price/performance ratio I have ever purchased a GPU at.

I mean, at least you can justify the high-end price since it's the fastest on the market. Paying $379 for a card performance you could have had over a year ago for $399? Doesn't make sense.

Sure... except the price performance ratio gets even worse the higher you go. But your right.

I'm in a tough spot and kinda damned if I do and damned if I don't. Plus my little Fury is only letting me use 60Hz over HDMi to my 144Hz monitor. So **** it, bought a 6600XT for $519 CAD.

Noice congrats gai ^_^

Post some benches when you can if you're so inclined :3

Also dont forget to update your system specs [PLAIN]:D[/PLAIN]

Is that card faster than the Fury?

Me I need 2x the perf to justify a large expense so would need the 6800xt over my vega 64.

Thanks guys :)

Well the only thing I have tried yet is Apex. Without changing settings, I went from 69fps avg to 133 at 3480x1080 according to the Radeon software. So very happy thus far :D

Wow yea decent uplift. I might get the 7600xt if thats all that is offered at the 500$ price point now :bleh:

If the DP ports on my Fury where not broken and I could use proper 10-bit colour and the full 144Hz... I might have tried to hold out. But it was just so sad not being able to use monitor's capabilities.

Anything you guys want me to test with my little ancient CPU?

Congrats on your new purchase. If you still won't upgrade the cpu i think you've done a wise choice going AMD because of the nvidia driver overhead.

Yup! Rocking a really old Haswell based Intel system. Managed to sang a cheap 4770k earlier this year as it's last ditch upgrade to just hold out on it as a general platform. Likely next year I'll upgrade to a Ryzen platform.

Trunks0 plz send me your Fury. 390 died a couple of weeks ago and I am currently using my old 7970 non-ghz edition :bleh:
