Hi, I have a Rage 128 Pro with 32 Mb of VRAM and S-video/RCA TV-Out. How can I find out whether it is a Rage Fury Pro or a Xpert 2000 Pro? I know that the difference is a 128-bit/64-bit memory bus, but how do I find it out?

Easy way is to check device manager to see what it installed as.
Each piece of hardware has a unique id to identify it.
May take some registry investigation to get teh correct part..

Hi, Big Z. Thank you for replying.

The card's IDs are: Vendor ID 1002h (obviously), Device ID 5046h, Subsystem ID 0018h, Subvendor ID 1002h, Revision 00h. Hope this helps.

By the way, I have another card, a non-Pro Rage 128, and the same question could be made about this one, is it a Rage Fury or a Xpert 2000? This second card's IDs are: Vendor ID 1002h, Device ID 5246, Subsystem ID 0048h, Subvendor ID 1002h, Revision 00h.

Too lazy to look for rage128 driver so i googled and found the inf file.

5246 looks like a Rage Fury.

5046 card leaves me clueless.

Maybe a better inf may help.

%AnaPa.DeviceDesc0% (Rage Fury Pro/Xpert 2000 Pro) = vbemp, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5046&SUBSYS_00181002

%AnaPa.DeviceDesc0% (Rage Fury/Xpert 128/Xpert 2000) = vbemp, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5246&SUBSYS_00481002

That's exactly what appears in control panel/device manager: Rage Fury Pro/Xpert 2000 Pro, and Rage Fury/Xpert 128/Xpert 2000. I used the latest official drivers for Windows 98 from ATI. This approach based on device IDs seems to be a dead end. How about comparing the card's performance with previous benchmarks? Do you know any trusty source of information about what the performance should be in, say, Quake 1/2/3, 3DMark99/2000/2001, or any other game or synthetic benchmark on bandwidth limited conditions?
