Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020 Edition 21.2.3 Highlights

Support For

DIRT 5™ Energy Content Pack

Fixed Issues

HDMI Audio Devices may fail to install on Radeon RX 400 and Radeon RX 500 series graphics products.

Hot plugging HDMI TV displays in multi monitor system configurations may sometimes cause a system crash or hang.

An application crash or hang may occur in Substance Painter™ on Radeon RX 6000 series graphics products.

A system crash or hang may occur on the HP Reverb G2™ when connected to Radeon RX 6900 series graphics products.

Radeon Software may sometimes fail to gather the latest available Radeon Software versions when performing or checking for updates.

Known Issues

A system hang or crash may be experienced when upgrading Radeon Software while an Oculus™ VR headset is connected to your system on Radeon GCN graphics products. A temporary workaround is to disconnect the headset before install.

AMD is currently investigating end user reports that Radeon Software may sometimes have higher than expected CPU utilization, even when a system is at idle. Users who are experiencing this issue are encouraged to file a bug report in Radeon Software.

Brightness flickering may intermittently occur in some games or applications when Radeon™ FreeSync is enabled, and the game is set to use borderless fullscreen.

Enhanced Sync may cause a black screen to occur when enabled on some games and system configurations. Any users who may be experiencing issues with Enhanced Sync enabled should disable it as a temporary workaround.

Consider my mind blown. The system specs button has been there for us to click on (and modify in our profiles) for liek 15 years.

I miss Ratchet. :(

Ah cool same here vega 64. I couldnt find his specs tho?

I'm not running this driver. I currently have 21.2.2 installed :D

Also yep currently a Vega 64

A little off topic, out of curiosity: how do you find Vega 64's performance today? =) Owned a 64 LC from launch to launch of Radeon VII, but sold the card. Kinda regretted that sale, and the Radeon VII sale...

It does the job but I find myself yearning for the touch of another man....I mean GPU...

I have a mighty need for a 3080 or a 6800XT alas

Vega 64 is solid at 1440p. For me to upgrade it'd be not just the added perf but features like RT and super resolution...

If the 6700xt was ~400 usd or ~500 cad id buy that pretty easily in a TUF but itll be way more than that. I expect 600 usd and 750 CAD at this point.

Can't say I regret my 68XT, but i regret selling the two last big GCN chips. Also the design in all alu was pretty awesome look!

Yeah I theink they could have undercutted the market with a price more down to 400USD! Totally agree! That would move volume of branding.

As soon as I get my hands on something powerful the Vega goes to a family member :3

She'll be close to mah heart ^_^

So I gave my son my old Acer 27" 1440p 144hz monitor to run my old 5700XT on. Having installed it on the Display port I clicked on the AMD settings and ..nothing. Tried a few times still no luck. So I installed these drivers and when complete restarted and clicked on AMD settings again and..nothing. Curious I now decided to uninstall the AMD graphics software and start again. It duly uninstalled everything and I rebooted.

I then looked at Windows update and he hadn't done any since August last year and there were quite a few to install. So I installed all the updates which took ages to complete but finally it was up to date.

I then ran these drivers and clicked on clean install and it set off by uninstalling old drivers even though I thought I had already done that. Anyway this took a while and it flashed black a few times so I presume was actually uninstalling things that I thought the uninstall programme should already have done. So once it did that it installed the new drivers and I restarted.

I clicked on AMD settings and...it appeared immediately with everything as it should be so happy times. Freesync was enabled and the frame counter worked on the monitor. Ran the Rise of the Tomb Raider demo and it ran at over 144fps as the frame counter never moved. The average at the end was about 180fps which was higher than I used to get with the 5700XT and a Zen 2700. My son has my old 7700K at stock so was a bit surprised at that but obviously an old game that was more single threaded IPC dependent.

First thing he did was ask me to get rid of the frame counter on the monitor (heathen) which I wish I had on my new monitor. So far so good with these drivers they seem fine and he's had no BSOD's or issues and is happily gaming away at 1440p instead of 1080p.

I think the issue was probably a combination of him not keeping windows up to date and maybe a borked installation of the AMD drivers but updating windows and uninstalling old drivers and clean install of new drivers sorted it out. Unfortunately a simple 5 minute job took me an hour and a half.
