I feel like this might be a silly question, but after doing some searching I couldn't find an answer.

So I just built a new computer with a EVGA SuperNOVA 750 T2 Power Supply

Two of the PCIE power cables that it comes with have both a 6+2 and a 6 conection like this

My HD 7970 has an 8 and 6 pin power connectors. Can I just use that one cable or do I need to use a second cable?

Poked me a Evga 750w GQ.

I thought about doing it with just one cable but since there were 4 vga connections I just used 2 separate cables for peace of mind.

To answer the question, the EVGA power supply has a single 12v rail from what I understand. As a result, whether you use 1 cable (with enough connectors on it), 2 cables, or 4 cables you should be fine.

We use these supplies in a component of one of our products.

Using the VGA ports on the PSU use a 6pin and a 6+2 to the Vidcard.

Nice PSU. Modular is the way to go!
