Official PhysX Thread

Physx dedicated is a waste in my opinion, most games that use it run well enough anyway, and the odd game like ac4,it just makes the game worse.

NVIDIA GameWorks 2014 Unleashed at Game Developers Conference

Now the first Unreal Engine 4-based game, Daylight, a survival-horror game from Zombie Studios, will contain a number of key NVIDIA GameWorks features. They include environmental cloth; NVIDIA’s Turbulence technology for dynamic fog, particle and smoke effects; NVIDIA PostWorks; as well as ShadowWorks (HBAO+)

Crytek Adds NVIDIA GameWorks to “Warface”

One of the most compelling PhysX features in the game will be mesh debris using PhysX particles. It makes it possible for debris from the impact of weapons on concrete, grass, soil, wood, sand and the like to interact with the environment, as it would in the real world. And unlike most games today, the debris will remain on the scene rather than disappearing after it’s spawned.

NVIDIA’s VisualFX Turbulence module will enable complex fluid simulations and particle effects in “Warface” using advanced techniques like Navier-Stokes simulations.

Would be nice if they added actual PhysX to the game, but at least they are adding something so can't complain. Just wanted pretty explosions, and maybe replace those 2x2 pixel backgrounds Respawn seems to have been using since COD 1.

Imho,

GPU processing is not dead -- not according to AMD, nVidia, developers and content!

GPU Physics is not dead -- and if anything is gaining more content and evolving with some momentum with AMD and with GameWorks from nVidia!

For all your non constructive extremism -- the reason why nVidia has such brand awareness and brand loyalty is for creating tools for developers to add features like GameWorks -and for gamers to have the choices to improve gaming immersion and improved gaming experience potential!

I don't understand trolling!

I'm not trolling....just observing your never ending campaigning almost to the point of shilling of PhysX and 3D...

I think it is admirable how you never give up...

I have a right to criticize any thing I want to....and those screen shots DO look awful.

To be honest SirPauly, I would be amazed if you are not a Nvidia shill, but Nvidia pwns all, so I will let you off ;) :bleh:

As for GPU physics being dead, I would disagree, GPU based physics/particles etc are heavily used on the PS4 now etc, so if anything it's use should be going up.

Your campaign for PhysX is admirable but you mostly speak to yourself in this thread.
Just because he posts updates one after another without other people commenting doesn't mean those updates aren't appreciated or looked at. Nor does the absence of comments signal a death knell for PhysX just because people don't take the time to express their feelings on the subject.

Yes let's not post about PhysX in the Official PhysX Thread this thread is now about sharks, sandy beaches and even sandier vaginas

But if this thread and the 3d vision thread was unstickied where would they go??

I bet they would roll off the front page of the sub forum.

Look,I like Physics but I think it's not going anywhere.AMD,nVIDIA and Intel are all guilty of having GPU physics being either stillborn or letting it die a slow torturous death...

Not a single game I like or play has GPU physics and all videos and screen shots I've seen look horrible, tacked on and unrealistic.
