Saw a news story where 3 cars burnt and melted. Also heard about recalls for battery some issue. Not a great start.

Ford is as bad as Toyota now... You have to order a year in advance. :bleh:

Isnt that kind of the norm for all high demand Electrified vehicles and to a lesser extent any and all new cars right now? Toyota kind of sucks though cuz they haven't really ramped up their production of their high demand PHEV cars for some reason.....Every since they were announced they've been very hard to get. The pandemic hasnt helped though.

Toyota, and I bet other automakers also, screwed their suppliers with their Just in Time production inventory scheme driving a lot of them under. Its why Toyota made 42% fewer vehicles in 2022. I can see Ford and Chrysler filling their lots with inventory now but Toyota, and GM to a slightly lesser degree, are still empty. They have wait lists even for regular ICE only vehicles.

it's just a disconnect switch in the carport so i can turn it off locally when i'm out the breaker in around the other side of the house
breakers don't like being turned on and off all the time and a 100 amp breaker is like 85 bucks

I wanna know how it performs sooner! Bill showed me his electric plan on discord and during the winter it's .03 cents a kwh for a 5 hour super off peak window. If his amperage allows it he can fully charge his Lightning from empty to full for all of ~$3.50 or something. Plain off peak is around .05 cents per kwh so ~$6.55 for full charge in the summer or outside that 5 hour window in winter (but not during peak). He said a hybrid F-150 has a 26 gallon tank and his gas is $4 a gallon so $104 to fill that up from empty to full.

That's gotta be immediately noticeable but the electric bill only comes once a month and you want at least a few to average so hopefully he'll be back to confirm! Still it's a really expensive truck and I'm glad he got the price cut even though he pre-ordered forever and ever ago.
