Bye bye Alfa Romeo Giulia, hello Kia Stinger GT2!

Nothing can beat the ultimate cheapness of fisher price plastics of 90's era GM cars....NOTHING...although 2009-2013ish Toyota's arent far behind.

The only area that seemed subpar (and that is a stretch...it wasn't worse than most domestic cars) to me in the Stinger was the very bottom of the dash/glovebox area, at least from sitting in the one for sale locally. Everything else seemed really nice, even better than my Giulia.

Just saw the car, and I'm digging that color. Congrats on the new ride man. The interior looks very nice as well. I like the red seats.

She's home!

Too tired to finish removing the vinyl dealer sticker tonight. Also, need to replace the center consoler trim around shifter/cupholders (~$215). The previous owner nicked it up more than I would prefer.

You don't trust the car because of a starter relay? God damn

Kind of a big down-grade in terms of vehicle, but my buddy has a 2019 Stinger GT2 and he loves it. Don't believe he's had any issues.

Starter relay failure is likely just the beginning. Alfa Romeo's are not known for their long term reliability and his was already giving him grief before his warranty even expired. I think he made the smart choice.

yeah i wouldnt have trusted that car because its italian.
Italian = not reliable.

fun as **** though

So today I am dealing with one of the issues with buying used and not doing a pre-purchase inspection...

Since I purchased the car I have been experiencing some abnormal vibration compared to my other cars. I ended up taking it into the local dealer as I suspected an issue with either wheel balance or alignment.

I dropped it off. They drove it. They called me back and said that the tech just recommends a tire rotation. Somewhat bewildered, I still go with it. I pick it up and it isn't any better and perhaps is even worse.

So now I don't feel like going back there about this, as I don't trust their judgement. I take it to another place, they drive it, and confirm I am not imagining this. Unfortunately, they say although they could try to address any alignment/ balance issues they don't think that will ultimately resolve the issue because they observed that the tires exhibit feathering and uneven wear.

Long story short, I ended up ordering some Michelin Pilot All Season 4's and they will be installed on Monday along with ensuring balance and alignment are spot on.

Make sure they check for bent rims.

Yeah, was just going to say that. It's probably just the alignment is out, but I would def check to make sure the wheel isn't bent too.

Other than this, how are you liking the car? These things look so much fun IMO.

Other than that I love it.

It shouldn't be confused with smaller and sportier track oriented cars, but as a grand touring sedan it exceeds my expectations. It is relatively fast/powerful (based on reading, also underrated from the factory based on dyno results) and is super comfy with a good mix of luxury, technology, and tons of room (both passenger and storage with the rear hatch). I would almost call it a sleeper if it didn't stick out as much as it does.

Awesome! I loved your julia, but those things just aren't reliable at all.

I love the spec on yours. The exterior color and the red seats... So sweet!

Doug says some great things about his Stinger GT2 after a year ownership:

pluses:
-driving experience
-styling
-practicality
-price [if you don't pay sticker price]
