Then I used the ATI uninstaller to make sure that we were starting on a clean

Installed Catalyst 6.2 – No problems there.

I had a problem installing the RW software. During the installation I received the following

Using the following suggestions in the thread below I was able to bail myself out of this situation successfully:

Then I installed ATI Mulitmedia Center 9.13.

mmc-9-03-0-0.exe

There was not a problem installing parts 1 through 3. I did had to give some thought to part 4.
Since it said that the Multimedia Center (9.13) supported All In Wonder (ANW) 9000 series and newer. For older All-in-Wonder products, please use MMC 9.02. WELL I looked high and low low for version 9.02 of MCC finally I installed 9.03. Maybe that is my problem... But I do have an All-In-Wonder X600 what am I suppose to install for it?

After spending all day with this thing I think I should take a break. I am getting frustrated. Based on what I have reported to you what am I doing wrong? After installing, removing, reinstalling, removing and reinstalling again all I have to show for it is two errors:
 1. Error 1904.module C:\Program Files\ATI Multimedia\RemCtrl\x10net.dll failed to register Hresult - 2147220473.
 2. ATIMMC.EXE has encountered a problem and needs to be close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
AppName: atimmc.exe AppVer: 9.3.0.7 ModName: mfc71.dll
ModVer: 7.10.3077.0 Offset: 00019d58
 1. Error message number two is my current problem. I received this error message after successfully installing all of the software. I clicked on the TV button to startup the TV. If I use the remote I get the same error message (#2).
Any suggestions on comments are welcome! Why does this have to be so difficult? I am tired!!

Cheers!

I had the same problem - solved it by setting the software to recognize only the remote id assigned to my remote instead of any frequency!

Wow! How did you get the software to recognize the remote id timdg?
How would I find out what my remote id is?

In the ATI remote software, Option Tab, button Set Remote ID - the form that pops up walks you through that

So did that fix your problem too?
Unfortunately timdg that did not resolve the problem. :(

What I have done is uninstalled the software and will reinstall it shortly. In fact, I am seriously considering contacting ATI and have one of their support representatives helped me through the reinstallation of the software. This way I can be sure that I'm installing the most current and correct copies of the software.

Thank you for your suggestion timdg!

Cheers!

This problem seems to stem from the X10 Drivers off the Windows Update Site.
I have been having issues with this myself and after many tries finally figured out the cause.
This time instead of finishing the updates and only installing the dotnetfix I installed my remote software and viola, the wonder appears in the tray.
Then I finished updating from the Windows Update Site and went ahead and loaded the X10 drivers Update.
On reboot, no tray icon and two listings for Remote Wonder appear in the device Manager.
I had originally got it to work by following this thread here http://www.rage3d.com/board/showthread.php?t=33823810&highlight=remote+wonder+will+-start

But I was not happy about the two listings in the Device manager and no matter how many times I deleted the other entry it would just reappear.
I was never able to track it down fully in the Registry so I reinstalled Windows and wound up with the same scenario after installing the X10 Update.

Luckily, I made images before installing the drivers so I am planning to go back and install the X10 drivers before the ATI suite and see if this makes a difference although I am pretty sure that is what I did before and still ended up with the two listings.
I do not know with whom the blame lays here, ATI, X10 or Windows but this is a big pain in the butt.
This only started a few moths back, as I updated another AT7MAX2/AIW 9000 Pro machine without incident and it shows only one listing in the Device manager with a title of ATI Wireless Remote Receiver V2.36.

I have a feeling that no matter what order the X10 drivers are installed, the problem will still exists and I would say that unless you are going to use any X10 devices it may be better to just not install the update from the Windows Update Site.

Update:
Before posting this reply, I did use the System Restore feature and reverted back to a time before the X10 Update instillation deleted the first entry (I think it was the first one, I am sleepy) updated the drivers per the link above and rebooted at the prompt and now the Remote Wonder is showing in the Tray and the Remote works just fine.

Hope this helps.

for those of you having problems with the atimmc, the new directx 9.0c is supposed to solve that but if it doesn't, i have a program called pc accellerator that might. the atimmc program was written to respond to commands instantaneously when you click for the command. the windows system has to be really well maintained for it to work properly.
