Accepting Windows 10 upgrade, without installing

I decided it wasn't worth upgrading then immediately reverting back, since this computer really doesn't need anything newer than 7 anyway...
Ah, should have been even more clear...When I wrote this I meant I'd given up on the upgrade on this computer. Once I knew I'd need to install the upgrade entirely to opt in, I said the hell with the free upgrade. My only issue is that Windows Update seems stuck in limbo.

This is, yesterday, I got my first batch of updates since the botched upgrade. It installed 5 updates automatically, so it still seems to be doing its job. Funny thing is, under 'view update history' it only shows those that were installed since the attempted upgrade. Under 'installed updates' though, it shows all the updates since last installing Windows....

Eh, give it a little time and see if it keeps on updating and works itself out. Admittedly not the most sound advice, but if it's currently working it may not be worth the trouble it might take to properly fix it.

Maybe start backing stuff up so you can just nuke and pave it if it turns back into a real nuisance, though.

Ya, that was my plan...got another update and besides that screen, everything seems to be working how it should. I plan on reinstalling 7 in a few months anyway....

Thanks to deadite, voodoo, and the rest!

Valkyrie, sorry for semi-hijacking your thread! Hope you got your issues figured out as well!

Last I heard Microsoft is still allowing activations of Windows 10 via Windows 7/8/8.1 keys so if you didn't make it for the free upgrade back up your **** download the Media Creation Tool and burn it to disk or usb and type in your Windows 7/8/8.1 key during install and it will still activate just fine.
