old-school adventure games

I'm having a nostalgic week for the adventure games. I bought a copy of Full Throttle off eBay and played through that, and then beat most of Space Quest 5.

And then I managed to find a copy of the Fate of Atlantis Talkie edition.

I can't believe this game came out in 1992... In '92 it was still several years until I'd have an XT with Hangman.

I want more adventure games and less suck.

Old school adventure.. Hmmm..

Tresure Hunter. Commodore64 text based.. (Go West, pickup shovel, dig hole, etc)..

It was a fun game.. I wish they still made games like that.. Run in a window, same interface etc.. That would be the shiz..

Kyrandia, Hand of Fate........................and even though it isn't old per say, try Mysterious Journey 2. It is excellent.

Beneath a Steel Sky is really cool
AND revolution released the Full CD talkie version for FREE!
can get it on www.scummvm.com
they also released lure of the temptress and Flight of the amazon queen for free.
Discworld II is pretty fun too.. DW1 is.. too farfetched.. its a bit hard hehe..

The Dig rocks..
Monkey Island series.
Simon the Sorcerer 1&2
pretty much all works in ScummVM (which offers special quality enhancing filters), not Discworld games tho.

The dot com address often goes down, I don't know why. If it fails, try www.scummvm.org , never fails.

Did you beat the test without cheats? Cuz thats the only part I looked up cheats for in that game.... :o

Space Quest is the second commercial computer game I've ever played. First was WC: armada...

There was a lot of items i still never used yet in that game... But i beat it to the end. I miss adventure games... :(

My favorite part of that game was battleship. I saved a game right ebfore that part just so i cna play it again and again.. :D

Heh. My first CD rom game ever was SQ 4, I loved it sooooo much

I had to upgrade to 4 megs of RAM to be able to run it.

Zork I, II & III

That's "old school"

Back then the thrill was in figuring out the puzzels (using your brain instead of your mouse finger)
