Default Finding a win2k ide driver that supports udma6 (ata133), or hacking current driver...

... for added support, or forced support of ata100(udma5).

Can anyone help me with this? I have a maxtor ata 133 drive that is currently running in pio mode. I know I could force ata33 by flipping the cable, but I'd perfere to get at least ata100.

ANY help is appreciated. This is driving me nuts. I am using an epox erda, win2k sp3 (and all other updates).

I can't find ERDA on EpoX's website. Did you mean the 8RDA (NForce2)?
You could try using Nvidia's NForce XP drivers. Those actually have an Nvidia IDE driver included. Don't know if it will work though but it's worth a shot since some XP drivers are also 2K compatible.

hadn't tried the xp drivers, though I've tried all the versions of the win2k drivers. Guess I'll give it a shot.

Plugging the side that goes into the drive into the main board and vise versa will cause the system to see it as a normal (40 wire) ide cable. This will force ata33 in hardware, and windows won't know it's ata133 capable. Hence flipping the cable forces ata33.

This is really starting to piss me off.

I downloaded the drivers, as requested. Unfortunately, they are incompatible with windows2000.

Where the hell can I find win2k ide drivers for my nvidia hardware? It's driving me mad.
