Default Windows XP Radeon 8500 Registry Gamma fix, how?

I knew how to do it with windows ME.

"You need to edit the registry in order for it to stick at 0.

Here what you do:
goto start/run and type: regedit
then goto edit/find and type: DALOvlYUVGamma
you should now see a highlighted DALOvlYUVGamma with 01,00,00,00
double click on DALOvlYUVGamma and then change 01,00,00,00 to 00,00,00,00. (before 01,00,00,00, after 00,00,00,00)

now hit F3 or edit/find next and change all of the DALOvlYUVGamma to 00,00,00,00.

exit and reboot, your gamma should now be set at 0"

But I can't find the DALOvlYUVGamma key with my new OS windows XP. I think I remember there being a different way to do it with XP. Can anyone tell me how to fix my gamma so it will stick at 1. Also I am not seeing any overlay settings in my ATi settings tab like I did before I reformated and did a fresh install of XP. With windows ME I had that option.... could this be the reason I am not seeing it?
Thanks.

Default

upon looking under the settings tab on the display adapter I found under driver verion it was listed as unavailable. hmmmmm. I also noticed that I no longer have an "optimal" option under my moniters refresh rate. What would be a good refresh rate @ 1024x786? Right now I have it at 75hz but its possible to increase it to 100hz, should I? Is there any point?
