Default NVIDIA may release a GTX1160 graphics card without Ray Tracing
"Now here is an interesting rumour. Videocardz has reported that NVIDIA may release a GTX1160 GPU alongside the RTX2060 graphics card in mid-January. Since this is a rumour, I strongly suggest taking everything you are about to read with a grain of salt.
NVIDIA may split branding into GeForce RTX and GeForce GTX series. As you’d suggest, the RTX series will be able to support Ray Tracing while the GTX series will be more “traditional” GPUs based on the Turing architecture. According to the rumour, the GeForce RTX 2060 will feature a TU106-200 GPU while the GeForce GTX 1160 will feature TU116.
Last but not least, the GTX1160 will be called GeForce GTX 1660Ti and its marketing material mentions ‘Turing Shaders’ instead of ‘Ray Tracing’."

I'd be interested in a non ray-tracing GTX 2080 at $800'ish.

I wouldn't use RT even if I had it because I value fixed framerates above all; so might as well remove the tech, halve the price and create a new line.

Not to mention the boatload of new customers they would gain because I can't be the only one who just wants a power boost minus the RT premium.

Imho,

Makes sense to replace gtx 1060 and 1050 sku's/price points with lower cost turing derivatives without rtx abilities.

Rtx 2060 may between 349-399 and offer around gtx 1070ti+ performance and the gtx 1160 may between 249-299 and offer gtx 1070 performance

I agree except for the fact that all stocks haven't taken that much of a dive. Nvidia has been beat down pretty hard. Maybe a good buy right now?

I mean their share price was inflated riding on a bunch of speculation that hasn't reached fruition so yeah some of the hit is readjustment after launch but its also the general stock market hits.
