![]() Hi, I was looking for gaming GPUs. I found the GTX 660 is good as the 7850. The GTX 660 costs 280$ and the 7850 costs 270$. I friend is going to buy me one for free so I searched for the GTX 680 and I found it well but first I need to know if my FX 6100 is going to bottleneck the 680 I looked for the answer in Internet but everything that I saw was almost useless. I need help with this before I got my new one. If you have any suggestions about some GPUs please tell me (If it's about nVidia it'll be better cause I want one of them and I don't know why). Thanks. |

![]() 750 TI an option? 680 is the best among cards you posted. |

I ask because if your in the US I don't see why you/your friend are sticking with the GTX 6xx Series when you have a 250+ budget. Especially when you can get a Geforce GTX 760 for $240.

![]() I live in Latin America, here the price of that GPU is the double or the triple. And Kac, If that videocard doesn't bottleneck my CPU, is an option Last edited by Tivo2605 : Mar 8, 2014 at 06:19 AM. |

![]() Too bad, the GTX 760 is a good solid card for the price, but they sure are big. Gigayte's 760OC is a good 1.5 - 2 inches longer than the reference card due to the heatsink/fan they put on there. The card does stay cool though. |

![]() Have you looked into the 670? I have a 670 FTW and this is a 670 on a 680 PCB, and the performance of this card is basically the same as a 680. |

![]() The prices here are very more expensive than there, the 680 there costs around 400$ and the price here is almost 800$; if my friend gives me one free, no problem with that but, is it going to bottleneck my FX 6100? Don't suggest me any processor, please I recently got it, only tell me if there will be a bottleneck with the suggested videocard. |

![]() No, you'll be okay, in my opinion... don't worry about the bottleneck in this case. |

![]() The CPU performance should be fine. If you still have doubts and want to test this, then try playing a game at a few different image quality levels. If the framerates are close/similar between settings A and B, then the CPU might be a bottleneck. But if the framerate is noticeably different between settings B and C, then the GPU is the bottleneck. For most games released in the past few years you should be able to raise settings high enough to ensure GPU bottleneck.

![]() Thanks, but I want to know how far can my CPU Go. I read that someone was suggesting the 760, can my CPU handle it? |

![]() The 670 and 680 are faster than the 760. You will be fine, unless you are SLI'ing. |

![]() The 680 is about 10% faster than the 670, the 670 is a tad faster than the 7950. The 770 is a bit faster than the 670, somewhere around the 680, but a good overclock on either card can push it over. What do the 7950/r9 270/280 prices look like? They're all in similar performance areas (the r9 270s in the lower bracket, the 280s in the upper bracket), and if you can find a deal on one, it could be an obvious price/performance choice.
