CDC is currently investigating two separate Listeria outbreaks linked to packaged salads. This outbreak is linked to packaged salads produced by Dole. The other outbreak is linked to packaged salads produced by Fresh Express.

do people freeze their salads or somethings? or are they eating brown mush? i mean some of the affected packages expired last november...what's the point of this recall?

I think this is the third one I've heard of in 3 months, crazy frequent for whatever reason. There was even some availability issues on the same salads because of weather near me for a week or so, so those sections almost have been empty more than they've been full

"best if used by.." normally doesn't mean "toxic after that date...". That being said food recalls are sadly very common lately.
