Cousin dentist of mine has a Cayenne and unlike the other higher end cars he kept trading in after a year or 2 that one was a keeper. But I can imagine the cost of fixing it.

I would have had to withdrawal my retirement fund, kids college fund and cut off my other legs and penises to make this work. Im only willing to cut off my penis and retirement fund but kids need college. And i cannot afford to cut down to a single ivory backscratcher anymore. Ill just stick with my Ford edge for now until i find something else i want to overpay to get and actually not get.

I've been in one a couple times and thought it was awesome. Haven't driven one though. So long as your ok with how much a repair might cost, it should be pretty sweet.

It depends, honestly. It's a great time to get into something new @ MSRP if you have a decent trade in. My brother's vehicle is worth more now on Trade than it was 2 years ago, so he's heavily contemplating getting into something new. Hell, my mom's 2015 Explorer on trade right now is the same as what she paid for it in 2017.

I wouldn't be caught dead trying to buy used at this point. The used market is ****ed beyond recognition.

The used market won't start coming down till the new market gets back to normal, and I don't see that till Q4 2022/Q1 2023, and that's not factoring in what military moves China may make that would disrupt electronics, yet again.

As far as car payment, that's a personal thing. My mom and step dad despise car payments, but acknowledge that sometimes it's unavoidable. Whereas my Dad just factors $500-$600/mo into his budget for a car payment because every 6-7 years he gets a new vehicle.

I haven't had a car payment in almost 2 years, and it's so ****ing nice. Every time I think about trying to get something new, I think about that $300+ guaranteed per month I'd miss out on..

I ended up not buying a car and got a house, so **** me I guess. I'm worried about $500/mo when I ended up with $1900/mo for a mortgage

In all fairness you can't compare the 2. A house is an asset, a vehicle is a depreciating tool. In your shoes, I take the house 10/10 times.

I am trying to spec out a Macan S. I am not sure about a few options. I have an appointment on Thursday to place an order.

I specced a Cayenne Coupe standard with some basic options and platinum package. I could go for it but feel that with new model coming next year, I don’t want to indulge at this point in time.

So for our 25 years of knowing each other anniversary I specced Macan S with multiple options.

The options I am unclear about are:
Adaptive cruise control (I use it but wife doesn’t)
Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (Car already has Air Suspension)
Sport Chrono (car already has sport mode because S)
GT steering wheel with carbon (think the regular blends better with interior)
21 inch wheels vs standard 20 inch
Matrix LED vs normal LED
8 way vs 14 way seats (will need memory pack because 2 drivers)
Seat ventilation (I use it on my Ford Sport in summer)
Reversing camera with surround view

Adding all these options make it crazy pricey. So what to keep and what to drop.

Adaptive cruise is well worth it if you sit in traffic much. 20" wheels IMO. For steering wheels if you can try each one first do that. Matrix LED is going to give much better headlights. Reverse camera with surround view is pretty awesome and very helpful. That's more or less what I'd add, seat ventilation probably makes a lot of sense where you are.

Yeah not adding Torque Vectoring. Will keep adaptive for myself and try the sport wheel first but might order normal as sport is quite small. 20 inch wheels as well as my wife is going to destroy the 21s anyways like she did on the Ford.

Thursday is decision day. Either we like Macan and order it. Otherwise wait 3-5 months for facelift on Cayenne. Will be test driving both to see what’s up.

I find smaller steering wheels more comfortable, but that's just me.

Long wait is tiresome but am happy with the choice. Let’s hope it’s all good for me and my family. Took me 7 years to gain confidence to spend money again on an expensive vehicle lol.
