Woha nice.

If they were just upscaling, don't they already have that with Radeon Image Sharpening
Exactly I mean they would have put out a tweaked RIS by now but the fact they are still working on Super Resolution and giving it its own namesake alongside RIS means its something completely different.

From what I understand they're working on some sort of temporal upscaling technique, using samples from multiple frames. I suppose something along the lines of temporal checkerboarding. Results may be good, will be interesting to see.

Which is an interesting idea if that is what they are doing. Part of how DLSS works is with Temporal AA at the base. It then basically further compares those frames to an AI trained against higher quality AA samples(up to 64x SSAA) and it corrects accordingly. So not overly surprising really to go a temporal based route

Its not too surprising as the aib cooling solutions are pretty damn good. Im sure we'll see some aib cards couple weeks after the reference.

Yes exactly. I'm thinking it should still provide pretty good quality without the extra AI algorithms, as checkerboarding is already OK on console. I imagine temporal checkerboarding will actually look pretty good. I heard that as long as a game supports TAA, both the new version of DLSS and AMD's solution will work. I'm not certain that's what they're aiming for for, just heard it on a talking head youtube vid.

6900xt geekbench:

https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-rade...cl-score-leaks

Quote:
With a score of 169779 OpenCL points, the graphics card is 12% faster than RX 6800 XT and 35% faster than RX 6800 non-XT. Interestingly the RX 6900 XT features 11% more Stream Processors than RX 6800 XT and 33% more than RX 6800 non-XT, so the scaling is almost linear, as expected. The graphics card would still lose against NVIDIA Geforce RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 which are respectively 4% and 19% faster than RX 6900 XT.

Yep in my quote. It exceeds the % of shaders slighlty but probly margin of error...

Theres a pretty big question about the scalability of having the same memory and IF cache from the 6800 to the 6800xt to the 6900xt (AFAWK). Anything that points to it not being as much a factor is interesting.

Saw something similar on Guru3D. So why did AMD lie and say it's only X570/B550, 5000 CPU and 6800 GPU specific? Clearly it's not. Obviously they're not the company many on this forum think they are. If Nvidia did that they'd be outrage on this forum. TBH maybe AMD are learning some lessons from their competitors and becoming a me too company. At the end of the day they owe us nothing as we are not their customers. Simples.

OK Bill one member on this forum has managed to get a 6800xt. How many 6900XT's do you think their might actually be for sale worldwide next week. Maybe 50

Both Sony & M$ are saying more delivery's before Xmas so where does that leave AMD? Not too hard to work out. Currently they can't fulfill their Zen 3 pre-orders so GPU takes the back seat. THERE ARE NO AIB 6800XT CARDS FOR SALE IN EUROPE Why not? Because they only exist on a wafer

You might want to go read the article above, as it states this:

Quote:
Recently a new BIOS from ASUS for their Z490 motherboard has enabled this option
What that quote means, is Intel had to implement it for their platform for it to work, which is what has been done with the recent bios for that motherboard. It's not AMD's responsibility to announce what Intel has or hasn't done. When the 6800 was announced, and SAMS was introduced, AMD was 100% accurate.

You seriously need to lose the AMD hate that is inside you, because it is clouding your judgement.

Oh, i do not think it's X570/B550 or 5xxx CPUs only. It's mostly likely that 68xx GPU has SAM option enabled whether if it ever see the mobo support resizable BAR option or not. I think it's just mobo that need to support it. In fact, my mobo support resizable bar option. I'll double check mine though.

AMD Smart Access Memory (PCIe Resizable BAR) Guide

Quote:
AMD Smart Access Memory : Requirements
Since Smart Access Memory is just an AMD implementation of PCIe Resizable BAR, it can be possibly be implemented for all PCI Express 3.0 and PCI Express 4.0 graphics cards and motherboards

Quote:
However, AMD is currently limiting it to a small subset of components, having validated it only for their new Ryzen 5000 series CPUs and Radeon RX 6000 series graphics cards.

So this is what you currently require to enable AMD Smart Access Memory :

Hardware

AMD 500 Series Motherboards
AMD Ryzen 5000 Series Processors
AMD Radeon RX 6000 Series Graphics Cards
Software

AMD Radeon Software Driver 20.11.2 or newer
Latest Motherboard BIOS (AMD AGESA 1.1.0.0 or newer)
AMD currently recommends these X570 motherboards, because they have updated BIOS available :

ASUS X570 Crosshair VIII Hero WIFI (US|UK|AU|SG|MY)
ASRock X570 Taichi (US|UK|AU|SG|MY)
GIGABYTE AORUS X570 Master (US|UK|AU|SG|MY)
MSI X570 Godlike (US|UK|AU|SG|MY)

The features isn't really up to nVidia anyway. They can open the access driver side. But it requires Intel to enable it BIOS side, followed by the OEM's then releasing BIOS updates to expose it. I wouldn't expect OEM's to release updated bios for this feature going back very far.

The same reason AMD is restricting it to the new cards they just released?
