Yes at least a couple of requested features are in there, some nice improvements overall.

Just wish they would add 50hz support over VGA so you can play PAL Xbox1 games on the 360, without plugging in component cable. They added it for DVD this time so maybe in the future. Some projectors and TV's are also only 50Hz so you cant play games on them with the VGA cable at the moment.

Great that they are now allowing video file playback from CDs and DVDs. Now if they could only add Mpeg4/AVC to the list of supported formats. That would be awesome.

Also, better host migration in multiplayer matches is good news to me. My friend and I would always run into trouble whenever the host left the room in DOA4. Maybe this would solve that.

I just downloaded the update...didn't have too much of a chance to look at it, but Xbox Live arcade is MUCH improved...populates near instantly, and 1080p is on the output listing now.

You can stream wmv files without an MCE PC now too. Hmm, may have to convert some stuff.

Here is a great program that converts anything to wmv! (shareware)
http://www.winavi.com/en/video-conve...-converter.htm

It works incredibly well and is very fast!

Try a preview here if you wish:

Well, there were rumors of a HDMI cable release for the 360 this winter which would require no new 360 revision.

It would be a cable with a built-in ADC and TMDS transmitter, because the 360 can't output a digital video signal in its current form (it would need a revision for that). There would be no video quality improvements.

Portable storage devices my ass!! It doesn't work with my USB hard drives.
Has anyone tried using a flash drive? This really sucks!

Oh well, streaming via mediaplayer11 works, and same with CD/DVD discs.
Still, to not allow USB hard drives... sucks!!

Oh, and remember guys use this tool to convert *EVERYTHING* to WMV so
you can stream. I works beautifully:

Oh well, at least it works.

Only thing is, for some reason, my anime seems kinda overscanned. I'll have

I'm not getting this for a little while yet. Too many reports of this update killing even more 360s than the last one.

I don't understand the benefit of 1080p. If 360 just upscales 720p to 1080p, how is that a benefit? Any TV that supports 1080p natively is probably going to have a damned good scaler, no?

Oh well, at least it works.

Only thing is, for some reason, my anime seems kinda overscanned. I'll have
to figure this out later.

Nf.
That's wmv right? Just asking cause most anime downloads are avi. I'd rather use XBMC on my old Xbox rather than convert all my stuff to wmv.

i have a 1080p lcd montiro 42 inch . that support 1080p thru DVI, Component, VGA , HDMI .

imo VGA looks the best atm for 1080p.
