as the RTX side of the 2000's is a bit under powered I think it is getting more chip real estate

with all the 4k screens hitting this year the 2080 ti can do non RT 4k ok
but not RT at 4k
and DLSS sucks donkey kong's balls at 4k

If they already had this in the works with the original April 16th release date it will be some version of a 20xx rtx. Otherwise with the pushed back September release date it could be a 30xx part.

I think it's fairly obvious this was in the works well before the delay as this is a very odd time to release it considering the new release date. Points to the newer cards either being out or already announced by September as well as you wouldn't want to release a special edition of the old gen then.

Probably would have made more then 200 and had them for sale much like the star wars titans I bet as well if it was still coming out in April.

The previous links showed the performance at ~50% at best. It's slightly less, but not much.

He might be referring to the GA100 leaks that had over 7000 cuda cores and a 75% performance gain with 24GB of memory. That will cost 10,000 and is designed for data center use. 5346 cuda cores with 40-50% improvement sounds more in line with what I would expect of a 3080 series card. Still, thanks to the virus outbreak, my hopes of getting one this year is starting to falter.

It's been a very long wait for a new line of cards and now this could push it to the 3 year mark. If that happens my 1080TI's will be almost 5 years old at that point. That's the longest I've ever went without upgrading and it's pretty sad that the best card to come out over that time period was only 30% faster with no VRAM upgrade and a $500 price hike. The tech industry has really been a downer for a long time. Everyone is obsessed with making 1990's tech available on calculators instead of pushing the limits like they used to. Now, finally the consoles start pushing Nvidia a little and the whole world gets pushed back into the basement.

Yeah it's kind of hard to say with some of the custom process they utilize. custom 10nm could be closer to 7nm similar to how Intel does things. It looks like the live presentation Nvidia was going to do on the 24th of the month got cancelled and they are just going to release some news updates on the site. I wouldn't be surprised if they postponed the whole release to better capitalize on the card launch from a marketing standpoint at a later date.

I don't know, AMD's 7nm 5700XT has a hard time beating a 3 year old 16nm 1080TI. AMD's console connections have allowed them to cheat their competition by purchasing all of the 7nm manufacturing and forcing their competition to use older and inferior manufacturing technology and yet their competition has still managed to outperform AMD's latest cards with superior designs on old 1080TI cards I don't expect much from AMD because their designs are obviously inferior.

I think Nvidia is in a position to deliver 40-50% performance with a 5GB VRAM increase. The 1080TI did the same thing, delivering 40% more than the 1080 and 5GB more VRAM than the 980TI. I figure AMD will struggle to beat a 2080TI from 2 years ago despite their shady approach in the manufacturing industry.

If Nvidia does decide to put out another turd with 30% performance gains and no VRAM upgrade despite 2+ years of waiting.....I'll buy it because I need new GPU's for 3D art and RTX will provide nearly 300% performance improvements over my old tech for IRAY rendering. As for gaming, If Nvidia delivers another turd then this will be the last series of PC GPU's I buy until my 3080TI's literally break. I'll use my PC as a dedicated rendering machine and switch to console for gaming when the cards can't keep up anymore.

I'll buy a Sony PS5 to ensure that "sell out" Microsoft doesn't get anything out of me. "Sell out" AMD will get a measly $500 from me every 5 years on their un innovative console platform that has completely killed the game industry's progress. Delivering the same generation of games with the same graphics for 5 years at a time on budget hardware. The PC will be nearly indistinguishable from consoles if Nvidia allows AMD's console hardware to catch up with them. The PC hardware industry will be left where AMD drove it into the ground by monopolizing half of the PC hardware industry and refusing to compete while starving the remaining PC hardware industry of the resources it needs to build cutting edge tech. All the while killing SLI thanks to their gimp partnership with Microsoft.

That would be a shame since I used to spend more than triple the cash on PC hardware and I used to buy 10X as many games back before con-tard land took over the industry with dumbed down games and hardware for the masses.

I'm not saying Nvidia will deliver another turd, but if they do sit on their hands for the second generation in a row, despite AMD's lack of competition and resource hogging, I won't be around to get ripped off in the future. I'm just glad I skipped the first trash release and while I can't skip this release weather it's good or bad, I'll skip the third one and onward if they deliver 2 turds in a row over the course of 5 years, forcing me to buy console gaming hardware with data crunching capability for ridiculous prices. If they rip us off this time it will be the first and last time they rip me off. That's all I'm saying.

Yeah Ryzen.... Sorry, but I just don't expect anything from AMD. You have uncle Microsoft to thank for sporting the bill for that 3700X that went into the Xbox X. The same Microsoft that allows AMD to operate in life support mode applying no pressure to the PC market until a new console comes out and then they suddenly have the funding and ability to jump right up there with NV huh? The same Microsoft that worked with AMD on DX12 to kill SLI support. You remember that sell out company that purchased all of the good PC game developers and turned the PC platform into a console kittle port station?

Intel manufactures or at least tries to manufacture it's own stuff. Nvidia hasn't had a card launch at the same time as AMD in over a decade. It's these little things that make it obvious what the end game is. AMD and Microsoft pushing out motherboard, CPU, GPU combo's and beta testing them on the PC market before selling them at 90% off, 6 months later to console kiddies. Killing off all of the PC's advantages and over taxing the manufacturing industry with dual consoles and multiple PC product lines that never push the boundaries of performance beyond where it was the year prior but always happen to flood the market with slightly sub par garbage. Yeah, Good times. I'm sure it was all honest business and purely coincidental. AMD isn't mad that it's too incompetent to compete and would never stoop to these lame practices that just so happened to kill off the entire PC gaming scene and hurt every business in it. It's not their complete lack of competition that stunted the hardware industry for 15 years and just so happened to cause both Nvidia and Intel to push 5% improvements with inflated prices on the market the whole time. AMD just happened to keep putting out products that were the same price ,1 year later, with 5% less performance. I won't downplay the fact that hackers have been targeting Intel pretty hard and it really is up to Intel to take care of their corporate relationships. As a desktop user though, I know many people with Intel systems and not a single one has complained about these exploits or the so called negative effect on performance that stems from the patches. I personally haven't noticed any difference since I bought my chip. Same thing with the wave of internet memes regarding heat. My chip runs cooler than the 3900X while gaming so I have no idea what people are talking about.
