I sure hope this rumored 4K 5.9" Samsung screen gives some hope of an even higher res OCR. DK2 is a lot better than DK1, but it still needs more pixel density.

It is such a shame that the optics of turning a flat screen into a wide FOV cause the center of vision to have the lowest resolution, while the peripheral vision gets the better half of the deal.

Wow... call me impressed. Just got back from PAX. They only had DK2 set ups with Valkyrie and Elite Dangerous. But even with the old DK2 and heavy screen door it was an immediate, brilliant effect. I had my contacts in, so 20/20, and no adjustments needs, no 'getting used to it' period needed, it was instant completely natural 3D.

The Valk demo really made use of Oculus by having the AI doing loops around you standard dog fight style. Elite seemed to just want you to chase an AI around. Few people who demo'd the Oculus with Elite ever did more than stare straight ahead.

This was my absolute must see, practically praying for it to be there and the whole trip was worth just to get this first hand.
I am completely sold as a day 1 buyer.

Really though, the resolution is still not good enough for great movie watching. Unlike a normal TV, OCR has to spend its pixels covering your entire FOV. On top of that, the required lenses produce the lowest pixel density in your center of vision.

It would be nice just for the fill, never mind even bothering to play a game at that res. Even to negate most of the need for AA to take the load off our comps for 3D.
