I'm mulling over this or death standing to play next, but bugs are keeping me away for right now. For 30 I might be in on a price cut. But not at 60 with all the negative stuff in it.

Cyberpunk is worth it. But, unless you have next-gen HW, I’d play Death Stranding first. They both are great. The port of Death Stranding seems flawless and the gameplay is unique. I spent about 90 hours on Cyberpunk and the RT implementation is amazing. But on your 1080, I might wait until some patches before diving into the game. Playing the entire game of Death Stranding, especially if you are somewhat of a completionist, can take 80+ hours of game time. Probably plenty of time for a few more Cyberpunk patches to come out. I played Death Stranding and loved it on PS4 and am replaying right now on PC. My Steam name is the same as my forum name so if you see any of my ladders, signs, and/or structures be sure to throw me a few likes! (You probably don’t know what I am talking about if you haven’t played Death Stranding yet).

If you're going to play both regardless, I say start with Death Stranding. Cyberpunk is a more comprehensive experience, but currently way out of balance. Needs a lot of work, but what's there is definitely worth the asking price. Imagine a $60 bundle with $350 worth of games, 25% of them are spectacular but the rest are mediocre, but you're forced to play them all.

I agree completely with this.

Its what I've been recommending. If you have the capacity to wait a while to play Cyberpunk, by all means wait. You will likely have a much better experience with the game after they patch it more. Go play Death Stranding first. Its a long game, maybe by the time you're done the next Cyberpunk patch will be out. Just makes sense.

Side note, it doesn't matter but personally I also think Death Stranding is the far better crafted game.

Yes. Because it will really show off the power of your GPU. It's way ahead of all other games in the graphics and world content. You paid some big bucks for that GPU and this game is why. Death Stranding is awesome. But, you can try it later. Cyberpunk is the only game that really validates the purchase of that behemoth video card.

I picked up Death Stranding and I will go through that in hopes that one more patch will come out before I hit Cyberpunk. I think I read one more big patch is on the horizon and I might as well save the best for last.

A lot of the cyberpunk negativity comes from expectation. Compare it to fallout 4, New Vegas, outer worlds... It's clearly a much better game.

Much like the Witcher, sequels will refine the engine and improve things further. For a first release of the ip/systems I think they did a fine job, frankly, at least on the PC.

The problem is too many high quality assets, and a lot of detail = slow running game obviously.

It's not that the engine requires optimisation, though it will get it no doubt but don't expect miracles.

It's just that it's a demanding game.

Without RT the game runs pretty fine, and is clearly designed for high end hardware, it's obvious why they didn't, but it should never have come out for PS4/Xbox One.

Agreed on all point except.... he paid $699 for it (plus tax and shipping) but it's the least expensive 3080 to be had.

It was stable, just not very exciting and pretty lacking in content. People criticize Cyberpunk's AI... is Outer World's AI better? Mostly things stand around waiting for you to blow them up.

I enjoyed Outer Worlds while I was playing it, but at the end of the whole thing it felt pretty hollow and decidedly short.

Seriously though, IMO the game is just very inconsistent visually. At times it does look incredible, but at other times it looks like a game that could have come out 5-10 years ago.

The River Ward questline with the Augmented Reality laser-shoot with his little nephew/niece is a perfect example of how the game is simultaneously great and bad. The quest itself was a unique idea and implemented very well. Except when progressing to the next "section". At each point there was one spot that you are supposed to stand to trigger the next movement, and using the minimap to maneuver your character to the yellow ! only worked 75% of the time. The rest was wandering around randomly. Also River repeated the same phrase two or three times during the event.

When it was all over I chose not to bone.
