Is the download of new areas seamless or pop ups ?
Overall gtx setting I see you have 2 x 1080’s so presume no issues and can’t test lower powered but do the settings scale ?

I can't give specifics. It's an alpha and everything is open to change but I can say that I'm still really impressed with the game.

The 9/11 terrorists apparently used Microsoft Flight Simulator to practice flying the planes into buildings. After that Microsoft turned off the crash modeling.

I don't think that they will turn that back on anytime soon.

On a side note, I can say that I have started testing out and playing with the reality settings and setting up some failures.

I continue to be very impressed with this game.

Appreciate that crashing is not in the game but if I was in that mind then surely the main focus would be to fly to the destination point and not wonder about the actual graphical representation of a vehicle hitting something ? It does take some of the immersion away from the sim but I guess being a sim you are not meant to crash but if you accidently clip a bridge or whatever it would have been nice to try and recover no ?

There's never been any attempt at realistic visual crash modeling in Flight Simulator at least in my experience, going back to FS 98. It's never shown any damage to either the aircraft or ground or structure.

If you hit something, the sim basically freezes and pops to the outside view of the still intact aircraft, with a line of text telling you that you crashed. If you've hit something, the view will show your intact aircraft touching whatever you struck.
If you over-stressed the aircraft in mid-air, you will see your frozen intact aircraft in the location and attitude it was in when over-stressed.

As far as aerodynamic modeling, crashes are fairly realistic, as in over-stressing as mentioned above. You can turn all that off if you wanna.

FS2002 was the first and last to try it. Although they disabled the feature before release, it could be enabled easily with an ini edit. I remember smoke, flames and the ability to lose wings.

But surely simulation is just that, if you can’t accidentally rip a wing off or lose undercarriage by an over heavy landing then it takes some of the risk out of it and fun in a way.

Why simulate stalls ? Or out of fuel ? Why not take that out too ? Maybe weather effects too as if it gets too choppy does the sim just reset ?

It's not that you can't damage your aircraft by overstress or rough handing, it's just that it usually leads to an automatic game over. Not ideal but complex damage models probably aren't a good use of resources given most players won't experience them that often. How often do civil aircraft actually experience major structural damage beyond an outright crash?

As mentioned before, the first attempt at actual visual modeling of damage was FS2002, which was released in October 2001. So it's not difficult to see why they quickly pulled that feature before shipping and the general public didn't exactly have the appetite to them revisiting that feature prior to the team being dissolved after FSX.

Whether or not Asobo adds that feature is to this new iteration is anybody's guess, but it's not currently part of their public development roadmap or high on their public list of requests from alpha users, so it seems unlikely anytime soon.
