I get that there are a few games that would benefit from a better CPU but I just don't see dropping $1k for those few extra FPS right now.

So I see Linus had his kind of crappy review leaked and yes it’s faster at 1080P gamming, didn’t see any 1440P or 4K, but I suspect at 4K everything is even as usual because of the GPU’s we have now, there will be no upgrade for me anytime soon.

The mins are nice over my 5600x but not worth 1000$ +.Also it seems that the 12900k is very hot so i am not sure if my Scythe Ninja 4 will be sufficient for a 250watt cpu.So i may have to spend additional money for cooling.

Except productivity 12900k is unimpressive.

I looked in my local shops the cpu's prices are ok inline with the MSRP but big problem are the mainboards.There is a 12600k in stock for 370$ but the cheapest z690 board is 280$ almost the same price as the CPU so .... The board support DDR4
