Depending on his workload a 12inch iPad pro(the new m1 more than enough) has enough power to replace a PC if its within his scope of work. The touchpad/keyboard combo with the iPad definitely makes that viable. I personally wouldnt ever be able to do it though. |

![]() The iPad is not anything like an actual laptop. These things run the phone OS, not MacOS. I have an iPad Pro 2020 and it’s not a suitable replacement for a laptop. |

![]() An iPad would be suitable for 80% of what I use a laptop for, but that last 20% is the most important stuff I use a laptop for, which an iPad just can't do. CAD/CAM on a Mac is also difficult enough, there's not much support for it, so I have to use Parallels Desktop to run my CAD/CAM software or just use my Windows 10 desktop. |

No ****, but 90% of people dont need a full working laptop anyhow. With semi-multitasking that iPadOS has they can read their emails and do their spreadsheets no problem. |

His current hardware is divided up into his DJ group, his work group, and his personal use group which includes a lot of content creation for his wife's shows - she's a heck of a singer and does local "concerts" every weekend. He uses his ipad and software he bought for the ipad to manage all of the gear during each show. But restricting himself...I don't think he can do it lol. I'll give him until the next iteration is released. On this Series 6 watch - the functionality on this thing is just insane. Setup was easy as is switching bands, but I just did an EKG while setting up ![]() Apple sure has come a long way since the iphone 6 days. ![]() |

My main issue with the iPad Pro is that the apps are not fully functioning. I don’t like using PowerPoint, Word, etc on this iPad (and I have a Logitech Folio keyboard+case) because everything is all ****ing weird on it. The phone OS crap also makes file difficult to transfer etc for no reason what-so-ever. I wouldn’t want to use it for Spreadsheets. I can’t stand using this thing to build small PowerPoints like I currently have to for the leadership course I’m in. |

![]() I got a bunch of people who definitely would benefit from taking away the full MacOS and giving them something simple like an iPad. My organization is herding people towards the cloud mentality and the iPad is perfect for that. Not to mention they are infinitely easier to understand and boringly consistent(exactly what non tech savvy people need) Nunz you are on the end of the power user but most people are nowhere near that. I know that you would like a full OS so you can do everything you want in the fashion you would like, but the average everyday worker needs to be taught in a simple way they can understand forever. And since iPadOS doesnt change they can learn that one way to do things and never have to worry about it again. Less troubleshooting, less complaining overall. I still maintain for the power user he/she needs a full OS experience but the majority of office workers dont need anywhere near that. |

![]() I'll be getting a pro sometime soon. I'm looking forward to see the changes in iOS 15 on it, although that's still a little ways away. I'm still a little shocked that I transitioned to iOS so easily. I'm not missing Android at all. |

![]() The way camera settings are presented is the only thing that comes close to a miss so far. If anything, Apple has beaten Android at this point, regarding my settings/app preferences, and I've just scratched the surface. Lots more Apple tips to go through yet..... |

![]() Weird, sounds like a lemon -- my wife and I have the ultra, no issues. I would never trade my phone for a ****ing iphone.

![]() ![]() So just status symbol stuff? ![]() A lot of the comparisons I read stated you really can't go wrong with either device and so far my experience is bearing that up. Love Android and right now loving iOS. It's come a long way in the last few years. Somebody who is a power user might think otherwise, but at this point my setup and usage is pretty standard user stuff, no deal breakers here. |

![]() never understood that status symbol small peen0r stuff and never will. If you like your device and it does what you want/need then it's just fine.

![]() So...several days after making the change it's still a zero regret move for me. Enough that my Samsung tablet is on the way out the door as well. Apple had a 3rd gen 12.9 with 512Gb and cellular for $1009, refurbished of course, but it's still backed by their warranty. I'd love to have the latest and greatest, but I really don't 'need' it, so a $600 savings over the new one sits pretty good with me. Quite frankly I'm finding myself getting a lot more use out of the phone and watch than I did out of the S21 + fitbit. Loving it ![]() |

![]() This years iPad was actually a huge performance jump, I would have splurged for it as it will last you longer in the end. But damn did you go deep into the apple ecosystem. Now to grab an apple tv and use homekit items in your house ![]() |
