I have seen people today complain about trying to find masks in Toronto, sold out in many places.

So obviously the bottom feeders are scooping them up and re-listing them for profit.

yea I have them in the shop and on the truck

they are fun in Phoenix in the summer as they slowly get wet from sweet and start to suffocate you

Looks like it... did some digging, and an article mentions the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Here's their webpage. Now, at least in theory it's just a research lab, not a weapons lab.

I have worn them all day at a Intel fab and other clean rooms or in the workshop and never infected myself with my own microbes


if they are my microbes I already got them

Considering at least 100k people are infected and (so far) only 80 deaths, this just seems like widespread case of the flu...especially since it seems only the weak are the ones that are dying so far. I'm really seeing it as overblown as things are now.

No one knows yet. It takes a couple weeks to fully run its course, and it sounds like it ends with pneumonia. Which is what most are dying from. (I think, if what I thought I read is still right).

Where did you see anything even remotely close to 100k?

Every report I've seen is 2,000 people and around 80 dead.

The videos posted here from a doctor working in Wuhan claims there are 90k infected. China's downplays and restricts information on this virus. Can you trust the 80 deaths as accurate?

Well, "unofficially" there's some claims of 100k from a chinese nurse but the official Chinese government claim is only 2k.

I'm just going by a possible much higher that "official" claim of infection.

If somehow it truly is only around 2k infected, then that is even more of a reason to not be terribly alarmed by this virus and that it is being blown completely out of proportion.

No, can you trust a random doctor claiming 98,000+ more than the official number we have available?

Just checking to see if there were any hard facts, but it looks like there are none. Just speculation.

Well to be fair I'd trust a Doctor over official Chinese word any day. However At this point I'll wait and see what happens before I start expecting zombies in my small village.

Cool this is what I had. But I had this weeks ago. Is that possible? Any who I am not going to think about it.

Just got off the WI DHS call they had to give us more information and it seems they spent more time saying they did not want to talk or comment about that question as that would put information out that did not need to be out for public consumption. What the heck?

They also talked about the people in our state being tested vs cleared vs confirmed being tested and the numbers do not match and when the news media called them on that they said the information you are looking for is not cleared for public consumption. When pressed they said the information would violate person or persons rights to personal privacy. Also they said why the CDC flu numbers had been delayed. There had been internal discussion about weather this virus would be included in the number and it was decided it would not as the over all flu number would then be affected. In other wards people could back trend the numbers to see how many people had the normal flu and how many had the new virus and that information is not cleared.

Also they talked about N95 masked like the one I just ordered on Amazon. They said if you have one best to use it. However, there is no current information based on how this virus infects people that the mask would stop the infection. But it would help some so best to wear it. Unlike other flu viruses this one can also infect though the eyes. yay.

I take it all of the violent protests over there have been calmed down now. I did read a few articles stating that the government was reporting 1/10th the actual numbers regarding the virus but at this point the media is as bad as the government. In some cases it's directly controlled by the government. It just depends on what media outlet you are reading and which government controls them.

Your mouth is full of germs on a good day. Not being able to exhale properly will accumulate them. Many infections arent the result of being exposed to a new bug but by a certain amount of bugs from the 700 different bacteria that live in ones mouth that can overwhelm your normal defenses. Using a respirator can be done for long periods but the same mask all day? Itll become wet and infested.
