![]() For the cpu Linpack (LinX/Intel Burn Test) This is great for quick ball park stress testing since if your overclock is not in the ballpark it will fail this test quickly. Its a pretty good all around stability test too. Prime95 Highly customizable. Small ffts does a great job of testing the cpu. There is no better test than Prime blend for sandy. Large fft with all of your available ram set to be used stresses the memory controller and ram harder than any other program that I have used. For the video card GPUTool I really like this for stress testing the video card. It scans for artifacts while putting a realistic load on the gpu. OCCT Stresses the video card hard and has an artifact scanner. Sensors/system info Realtemp AIDA64 HWInfo Cpu-z Gpu-z |

![]() i also use intel burn test to check for stability quickly. If the overclock isn't stable, it usually hangs in the first few seconds. After the initial quick test, I just use all the applications (games) I use normally to test stability and go on from there. Maybe it's just me, but I don't want to run stability tests for 24 hours 7 days a week and put unneeded stress on the CPU.

When overclocking my 2500k I was using Linpack with AVX support. That test puts a crazy load on your cpu. The cores would run over 10c hotter than I saw with Prime. I ran that for a couple of hours with no problem. I then heard that Prime blend was a great test for sandy. So, I figured wtf, I'll give it a shot. Almost two hours in I saw an error on a thread. Who is to say that a game might not crash to desktop on a system that is only stable for a few minutes in Linpack? Now that I think about it I had just that happen with my Q9650. With a certain prime test my system would bsod in minutes. |

![]() perfect example is BFBC2, if your overclock isn't 100% stable you will crash alot even tho none of your other games have ever crashed before. |

![]() If you want to discuss the tools, discuss them in the forum not this thread. Want to keep it easy to refresh updates.

![]() To get people in the right direction of tools when they are unsure or unaware of what to download, or if you need to download them after a reformat. Thats what it's for. If people want I will make a seperate sticky for discussing them, but im not going to dig through a discussion to update the top.

![]() Sapphire Trixx It does not require a Sapphire card. Unlike Afterburner you don't have to jump through any hoops to enable unoffical overclocking. It has an option to make your own fan profile although I thought that Afterburner did a better job with that. It has an option to disable ULPS. It really is a great utility. |

![]() Sapphire TRIXX does have a lower voltage limit than MSI's Afterburner, so if you're looking for higher OC's then go with MSI AB. |

![]() I have had BSOD problems with MSI AB and sometimes Trixx doesnt hold OC settings. I have been using ASUS GPU Tweek with no problem for about a week now. Pretty much an AB clone but works better for me http://www.asusrog.com/forums/showth...2624-GPU-Tweak |
