$399 for the XT which I think is bogus. A good chance to hit a home run is to sell for $360 XT and $320 non XT.

Looks like its gonna be $379...right in the middle between your bogus and home run predictions.
I guess that means its...fine?

so in your scenario a 6600 non XT might be 350ish?

I wish its cheaper....it just seems like its always MSRP higher than it should....then theres the current situation of markup on top of that.....ugh.

I remember you can get a good card for 300 bucks not too long ago but the same tier of card nowadays....is like double that.....

I feel like if i can get one of these at its MSRP price before the markups take over...i should just pull the trigger and do it.
Its still likely going to be higher than i'd want to pay for it but it might still be another year or so for prices to drop back down to normal levels.

I just dont see low end gamers paying 550-600$ CAD MSRP with tax for a low end gpu. If they gather dust on shelves you might not have to wait a year.

With how the AIBs are pricing and this being a non-reference launch we'll be lucky if they go for less than $500.

Watch LTT video. Only so much that can be done about it as allot of this is outside of their control.

The price on these things does not make any sense, they're slower than the gpu in an ps5/xbxbxbxbxsxsxs, but they cost as much if not more than a nextgen console.

Watch the LLT video. This is what happens when almost every element of what goes into a card has gone nutters. There is nothing anyone can do about this till the cost of component parts, metals etc go back down.

Non-issue for consoles. They bought and negotiated pricing for those components ages ago before any of this happened.

If I can get one at a decent price it's as good a match for me as the 3060 was that I was previously considering(if not better, as AMD has less driver overhead issues than nVidia, an problem for me till I upgrade). It's just not an exciting card.

In normal times it would be a meh card, but these are far from normal times. If it actually sells at MSRP in volume it will be a huge seller.

People are strangely hung up on reference MSRP comparisons when the reality is AIB cards are selling for hundreds over reference, and that's if you are one of the few who manages to buy one at retail since scalped prices are even worse.

To summarize, the Radeon RX 6600 XT series continues to be a fun gaming card series that is purely focused on rasterized shading; at Full HD and even WQHD resolutions, the 32MB L3 cache works its magic.

I don't know why AMD released this. You could have bought a 5700XT over a year ago for the same price..

Agree. Hard to believe we're well into August now and reference cards at msrp are still extremely difficult to obtain. These companies were telling us back in January that stock levels would be better in April.

I guess you can find 6800 cards in stock all over the place now and that's an improvement? The problem is, they're all 1200+ bucks lol. Maybe that has come down a bit, they used to be closer to 1600.

That applies to everything each generation....

besides this doesnt replace the 5700, it replaces the 5600....the naming structure clearly indicates this.

just checked a local computer store....yup these things cost the same as a high end card from a couple years ago (500+ CAD) when it should be the mid-range pricing (250-300+ CAD).....

The 5700XT comparisons are because its really close to it's MSRP and performance levels. Only it has RTing.

The price is exactly where it should be based on well the world as it is right now. It's also actually cheaper than a 3060 here in Canada

You should ask AMD why is the same cost for 6600xt. 5600xt for example replaced Vega56 with same perforamnce but lower price msrp 280$.Vega 56 was msrp at 399 $

Technically... the 6600XT is cheaper than the 5700XT on MSRP alone. It's just close to it. $379 vs $399. If I had to take a random stab, I would say AMD would have liked this to be cheaper, but it's just not possible with the market the way it is. Same goes for the 3060 and 3060Ti, they both should be allot cheaper than they are.

I think we where all hoping for was AMD to pull a classic move and really undercut the competition on price. But the margins are just not there to pull it off. If this released @ $300 or really just under $350 it would have been more exciting.

The naming structure is important because that is where the cards sit on the heirarchy. This thing should be replacing a 5600 and priced like a 5600 woudl have been at its launch. having it perform identical to 5700 is just typical generational progress.

Plus the 5700 came out during normal times, years before a health pandemic took over the world and completely fubared global supplies of...well..everything affecting prices. contruction material costs have skyrocketed as well if you must know.

unfortunately until things get back to normal, we currently have to deal with these stupidly inflated prices. So unless you can wait it out and more likely end up waiting for newer card generations, this is what we have to deal with.

HWUnboxed wasn't very impressed by this biostar card.

This card is much cheaper than the competition in Australia

6600xt is $700
3060 is $1000-1100

30% cheaper for about same performance is pretty good. But it shows how stupid some of the prices are though. Normal times both would be about 500-600.

There is just no other way to look it. It blows, but everything blows right now for GPU pricing. It's just the reality of what can be done right now.

Especially the actual pricing you can get retail. It just sux, this will be the worst price/performance ratio I have ever purchased a GPU at.

I mean, at least you can justify the high-end price since it's the fastest on the market. Paying $379 for a card performance you could have had over a year ago for $399? Doesn't make sense.
