Both Sony and MS likely have something up their sleeves on that front. Sony also recently filed a patent for a feature that sounds awfully similar, not to mention various other 3rd parties working tech that is the same.

Given the backwards compatibility and initial improvements especially to load times, I wonder if i shouldn't sell my project scorpio edition now and just use that money for the series x rather than have both as I've done in the past. My step son also has a one S that i could replace with the OneX. Hmmmm.

I would, I could understand if you had a 360 and a xbox one as not all games play on the xbox one, but with XSX you're not going to lose that compatibility, so if you have the cash then for me it's a no brainer.

Somehow I had assumed it had been delayed until maybe March... bringing on a new design lead seems to suggest it's delayed until late next year.

However, it may be that because they plan to do continuous work on the title for 10 years, that he's been brought on mostly to work on post-launch stuff... although the announcement makes it sound like he's really there to get the game shipped.

I've been using trade-up promos in my local area.

I bought the original Xbox One a couple years after it launched in a great deal from Best Buy that came with 5 games. EB Games later had a promo before Christmas where you could trade in your original Xbox One and get a new One S for $99 but it also included 2 games (Overwatch and Battlefield 1 I believe) plus a $50 dining gift card, some thumb sticks, and a 3-month Xbox Live code so of course I traded in my then out-of-warranty Xbox for that...sold the included games for $100 so it didn't really cost me anything

Later on they offered $300 towards the One X if you traded in your current Xbox so I did that.

I'm hoping they may have another great trade deal near Christmas but I don't know. I may just move the One X in the other room so the Mrs. can play some stuff, we'll see

Still seeing the rumors today of price leaks and $599 for the Xbox series X. Will be surprised if it is that, maybe they both will be going for that, but for consoles I believe its probably to high. I will be picking it up either way because I have free money for it.

I think the only way it's 600 is if the PS5 is the same price.

$600 for consoles is a real deal breaker tbh. At a cool $500 it will sell like hot cakes. I am OK with $600 if they include some game bundles (at least two flagship games).

Something's gotta give to get the price that low. There's always the option of transferring next gen games to and from an external HDD, and getting the add-on SSD storage card.
