I am just buying both as this gen it made a lot of sense to have both.

I definitely plan on on getting a PS5. The exclusives are amazing. As mentioned before, the XBox has no exclusives. I can play all those games on PC, so it's pointless for me to get one regardless of whether or not I can afford it. My XBox ONE hasn't been used for gaming since Forza 6 was released. It's the only game I ever bought.

To even argue this is a sign of a good life really.

I paid about £300 for my XboneX in a sale and £425 for my 5700XT. The Xbox plays games at 4K (OK not real 4K but better then PS4 pro checkerboard) and the whole family can watch 4K DVD's in the living room. Can't do that with a playstation.

It all depends on what games you like to play. For instance I'm not remotely interested in exclusive games like God of War or Spiderman (might be my age I'm 60 this year) but Dirt 2, Madden 19, F1 2018, FIFA 19 are great on my XboneX as compared to my PC. Plus the PS4 is not backwards compatible like the XboneX so you can't play your back catalogue. Plus I pay £7.99 p.m for my gamepass and have access to loads of games including new releases. No brainer really.

--edit: looks like it's just MS first-party games. Does that mean 3rd parties can make xbox series X exclusives? I guess we'll find out more later.

From the AMD leaks PS5 will have accelerated RT with no dedicated cores. Series X is next gen rdna and has dedicated Hardware RT cores.

Why would this be confusing. Each console generation eases the transition between generation systems.

With Phil Spencer in charge, I expect xbox will do just fine this gen. Will they outsell Sony worldwide? Probably not. But it won't be an embarrassing loss this time.
